As a senior manager some of the disadvantages of hiring temp to perm would be, temp employees may not have as much motivation as hired employees. They may not work as hard; or lack of drive needed to go above and beyond what is needed. The person may not be reliable. The agency may send someone that is really not equipped for the position. I am currently a job seeker, and I have and still do use temp to perm employment. The advantages of working this way is, agencies have more knowledge of companies that are hiring, job locations and positions. They get you in the door and you avoid the interview process that you would have to go through otherwise. They are also good to use because while you are somewhere for only a short term, Also if this person is willing to work as a temporary for you, consider how committed he will be to your company. The agency will be looking for another place to place you. It is a form of job security, even though it is through an agency, and if the company does not * Assume that you're a prospective job seeker (which you may very well be). What do you personally see as the advantages and disadvantages of taking a temp-to-perm position?
