One of the key responsibilities I feel for a teacher is to provide information, wisdom.
Assessment and Accountability in Mentorship Introduction A mentor is according to the Nursing and Midwifery Council a Nurse or Midwife that is responsible and accountable for facilitating learning, assessing performance and producing evidence of achievement or non- achievement of students in practice (NMC 2006). As the main aim in its Code (NMC 2008) is to protect the health of the public and the delivery of high quality care the mentors are established as “gate-keepers” to the professional register. To be able to carry out this task, the NMC further indentifies eight key skills in its' Standards that a nurse needs to develop in order to become a mentor and support learning and assessment in practice. This assignment aims to explain the terms of assessment and accountability as applicable to a Nurse mentor on the example of two first year adult branch nursing students in a Dermatology department. Main Body The clinical environment with its potentially unpleasant new experiences can have a big impact on a student (White and Ewan 1991cited in Stuart 2007).
In this respect, the ultimate aim is to enable learners to understand how to take responsibility for their own development. Teachers can do this by planning and preparing teaching and learning activities that take account of the needs and well-being of individual learners as well as groups of learners. Some key aspects of a role as a teacher may be: carrying out initial and/or diagnostic assessments; clear communication with your learners, other professionals and stakeholders; promoting appropriate behaviour and respect for others; identifying and meeting individual learners’ needs; being aware of the support mechanisms available; being organised; being reflective, which means learning from successes as well as mistakes. What are my responsibilities as a teacher? As a teacher, my primary responsibility is to ensure that learners are enrolled onto the correct course, in terms of meeting their needs, abilities and aspirations.

When comprising a common code of ethics between future educators, many factors must be taken into consideration. Individuals may have different ideas and opinions as to what is most ethically important to this profession. Each participating

The governors appoint the head teacher, set statutory targets and monitors performance by reviewing the effectiveness of the progress and targets. I would need to consider possible support that would be required in the classroom. I may do this by discussing any recurring issues with the learner such as tell tale Dyslexia traits and referring them on to the appropriate people. I would need to build a good, yet professional, rapport with my learners with built in trust. It is essential to have prior knowledge of your learners and take the time to work on their ILPs (individual learning plans). After the initial assessments, I would need to discuss with the group what they expected from me and what they expected from the course that I was delivering.
Jesus Gonzales Teaching Case Reflection As teachers we learn through doing, but experience is not the only thing that makes effective teachers. Knowledge is equally important in becoming an effective teacher. With knowledge we have a responsibility to share it with others to the best of our ability and to know when we need to adapt our sharing techniques. Teaching cases are examples of specific teaching experiences and are one way that teachers can reflect and add to their knowledge database. Each example can be examined by different perspectives, identifying the problems, and suggesting some solutions.
By interrogating, for example, teaching journals, evaluations, student/peer feedback, personal goals/outcomes, and/or role model profiles, teachers can reveal aspects of their pedagogy that may need adjustment or strengthening. Self-reflection is the foundation for reflective teaching. Going further than self reflection to understand student experiences is, for Brookfield, "of utmost importance" to good teaching (35). Teachers can reflect upon, for example, student evaluations, assessment
This will take into consideration the following ; what must be done by the candidate teacher to ensure professionalism in the ways I present myself and interact with others, what kinds of behavior I wish to see in my students now and in the future, what emotional and moral qualities will be promoted in the classroom to help develop students, what provisions will be made to encourage and enable students to conduct themselves in a responsible manner, and the tactics that will be used to intervene effectively when misbehavior occurs in the classroom (Charles, 2008). How I will present and conduct myself As a teacher, it is my responsibility to always give my students 100% of myself, as I expect the same in return from them. Just as students will be held to certain expectations, as their teacher they will also hold certain expectations of me. In an effort to always present and conduct myself in a professional manner, I will do the following: * Maintain an appearance that is professional at all times * Enthusiastically greet students at the door when they
