The purpose of this writing is to explain the extensive use of mathematics in technology and in daily life. It is important for children to learn Mathematics because it is needed more than ever in daily life. The history of arithmetic as a school reveals that the aims of teaching mathematics have been changing. Findings of experimental mathematics programs and research studies and discussions have brought about changes in methods of teaching mathematics. A statement of general purposes is a basic requirement for an elementary school curriculum and for the evaluation for teaching and learning. General purposes should be developed into sets of clear objective for each subject. ELEMENTS THE PUPIL SHOULD ACQUIRE 1. The children should have an understanding of the real number system, of basic geometric ideas and principles underlying the basic math system. 2. the children should use quantitative terms and symbols of graphs, scale drawing, charts, and tables 3. The children should think critically, perform common written and mental computations reasonably and good attitudes toward the importance of mathematics and its everyday use in life. Teachers have to plan teaching learning strategies depending on their objective, procedure, and evaluations techniques. The way to do it is to express objectives in behavioral terms in part a result of public demand for teacher’s accountability. The objective can be written down by national state teachers, school committees, and district. Behavioral objectives help many teachers planning in their instruction and make schools achieve their goals by keying objectives that relate to the topic in different text teachers use to teach the
