Encouraging and establishing student self-control through a process of promoting positive student achievement and behavior is what every classroom needs. Classroom rules and procedures should be established with students the first week of school. Each student should have full understanding and be aware of what is expected of him/her. Providing a safe learning environment where students can participant is a key factor in classroom management. A student needs to feel comfortable with themselves, others, and the teacher, so there can be meaningful discussion and interactions.
And with good teachers come good students with good grades. And finally I said a principle, I say that because you want a responsible principal to make sure the teachers are educating the students the right way and handling all the school problems and to keep students safe. Those are the things I think make a good school
The teaching assistant is also the post of call for parents if the teacher requires it. Senco’s role: these hold the responsibility of being in charge of any special needs cases that arise in the school. They are responsible for maintaining a relationship in a mentoring role with the teachers/teaching assistants that deals with the case. They are also responsible to keep up to date records of anything that has taken place within this case from training to working alongside outside bodies. They are also responsible to keep training up to date within their team so they can offer the best level of
One of the key responsibilities I feel for a teacher is to provide information, wisdom. In order to share their knowledge and understanding of a subject or topic a teacher needs to have a deep understanding of the topic that they are teaching. However alongside this a teacher should not claim to know it all, and be willing to learn from their students. ‘Knowledge may be seen as a level of awareness, consciousness or familiarity gained by experience, learning or thinking.’ (Jarvis 1987). It is important that the teacher appreciate any input from their students, whether the answer is correct or not.
As a teacher, one of the main roles is to motivate your learners to develop their ability and aspiration to learn. Some may read about delivering training and facilitating learning , but in reality a teacher does much more than that. A teaching role is not just about teaching your subject or preparing learners for assessment. The focus of a teaching role relates very much to inspiring learners to change and develop their personal, social and professional skills to the best of their ability. In this respect, the ultimate aim is to enable learners to understand how to take responsibility for their own development.
Describe own role and responsibilities and those of others in the team My role of a Teaching Assistant is extremely important in the class room. I am there to support the pupils and the teacher in charge as well as other staff working in the school. A teaching assistant is responsible for preparing the class room ready for the day ahead as well as clearing the classroom after the school day. The Teaching assistant is required to float between pupils helping them to confidently complete their work and tasks set. We are also required to sometimes work with individual groups of pupils on set tasks or individually with pupils who need one to one support.
The team must be aware of the current state of the school and manage this effectively, be imaginative in trying new ideas/initiatives in a manner that can get the whole school behind their ideas. They will need to be diligent in tracking changes and update the progress with appropriate actions that need to be addressed. | Teachers | Teaching staff prepare lessons to ensure students are engaged and that effective learning for all abilities takes place within the classroom. They prepare assignments/assessments and mark work that has been submitted to give students feedback. They ensure that the information they deliver is current and correct to best of their knowledge.
Inclusive learning should promote positive behaviour and conduct. A teacher needs to recognise that learner comes with different learning styles and needs. Maslow stated unless certain need are met the learner cannot progress. Malsow ‘s hierarchy of needs theory is: Learners needs have to to be met in order for leaners to be involved and focused on their learning. For individual learning styles to be met, within a good learning sessions a teacher will ensure he/she takes a multi-sensory approach to teaching, this way each learner can work to the best of their ability.
They have to be prepared to both support and challenge the head teacher and staff by gathering views asking questions and deciding what is best for the pupils. Senior Management Team This is usually the Head Teacher, Deputy Head and Heads of Departments, Special Needs Coordinators are sometimes members too. Their role is to set and manage the strategic direction of the school. They also lead any changes in the school and make sure the school is doing its best to deliver the strategic direction for the pupils attending the school. They are aware of the current state of the school and are key in launching new initiatives that can motivate the whole school and keep track of these initiatives once implemented.
Teachers must set this in place. ELL Teachers have to uncover a way to motivate and encourage their students to do their best. If a student is feeling good about himself or herself in an unfamiliar situation this will cause their affective filter to become low which will facilitate risk-taking behavior. This step is very important. A student needs to feel comfortable before taking the next step in the classroom.
