The specific purpose of the opening credits is to elicit the desired moods. Ostensibly, each calming episode of Play School begins with its trademark, cheerful tune introducing the familiar characters. The opening animation is set in softer hues which lure a two plus open gender audience with iconic characters beckoning them to, “come inside.” This sets up a comforting atmosphere where the children feel valued and safe, allowing learning to take place. Through the opening credits, Play School displays traditional, simple values which accentuate and develop their main purpose of education. Hi-5 is very much concerned with image, consumerism and technology, and as seen in the opening credits, it immediately reinforces the main purpose of entertainment.
In “Kid Kustomers” a selection from Eric Schlosser’s best-selling book, Fast Food Nation, he explains the increase in children’s advertising and states that advertising aimed at small children attempts “to increase not just current, but also future, consumption.” Throughout this text Schlosser gives many examples of how children’s advertising is effective and why it began. The reasoning behind this new increase in advertising aimed at children is because all of the companies noticed the potential amount of profit they could make off of this change. Adding children to their advertising aim was supported by companies because they want to create lifelong relationships with their customers, put pressure on future consumption of their product early,
These ideas fall together based on the concept of spending money leads to happiness. The documentary touches base on the fact that, while kids are taught from birth how what you buy is who you are, they are not only being marketed products but also essential values. Kids are getting older, younger and are brain washed to believe that “Happiness is never more than partial” (88). Happiness is supposed to be created from a base of what we want to become instead of you are what you buy. What you buy in our society determines your value and happiness is mistaken for satisfaction.
PricewaterhouseCoopers commitment is to deliver value to their employees and clients every day. The ethical perspective with this organization is that when they meet a new client or future employee, they want to learn all about this client/person, so they listen. Without listening to their clients or their employees they would not be able to learn about or from them. They would not be able identify a possible problem or most of all come to a solid solution. With using this type of practice they have grown to bring a global perspective and knowledge to the table with any current or future client or
A strong company brand should be one that clearly communicates the culture of your company, its mission and its values, giving people a compelling reason to want to work for firm and stay with the organization. The company has to build a culture that recognizes their employees as their most important asset and successfully communicate this culture to those outside the company as well thus creating the reputations as a great place to work and attracting top talent to their jobs even before they become vacant. Once a reputation is created, a good brand company will have an easier time recruiting qualified candidates, because candidates come in already understanding what the company stands for as an employer. It also helps attract candidates who are not actively looking to change jobs but would consider a good opportunity if it came their way plus candidates would more likely to seek you out to inquire about open positions. You save yourself the time and money because there’s less of a need to advertise open positions and wait for applications to come in.
She has shown her knowledge becoming a respected expert in her field. She had developed a strong team of loyal employees, and consensus builder. Julie Cobb maintained her integrity by holding a high ethical standard while others were making questionable, she also focused on the future. 2. Would you promote someone into a key leadership position who is considered a “people pleaser”?
I believe that as a senior carer I have great responsibility to be a role model for all team members. My team members working under my supervision learn professional knowledge, skills, good attitude and proper behaviour from observing my work as a team leader. I have to make sure that I work as hard as possible or even harder as a team leader to give good example to everybody else. Giving example to others is one of biggest responsibilities of mine and I need to make sure that I am giving very good example so everyone else can learn from me. I know that good leader is one who also inspires other team members by my deeds which contribute in positive outcomes.
“For it is only when group members are able to elicit the followership of others that leadership emerges.” Her problem is that she seemed to be driven according to (One More Time), by Intrinsic Motivators and like in Frederick Herzberg’s experiment Karen placed a high value on achievement. No doubt when she was given the opportunity to take over the Elmville office she was excited and had to believe in her heart that what motivated her throughout her career could be used to motivate the financial consultants who were going to be working under her in the Elmville office. As Herzberg noted most of us are motivated by intrinsic rewards: interested, challenging work, and the opportunity to achieve and grow into greater responsibility. But he also noted that the real key to motivating your employees is enabling them to activate their own internal generators. Otherwise you’ll be stuck trying to recharge their batteries yourself-again and
The leader-follower relationship is important in practically every setting because one role cannot exist without the other. These relationships exist in small businesses, corporations, and community settings, among others. Kelley discusses followers with the intent to make the audience aware of what makes good followers and how we can be better followers. Kellerman writes her article with leaders in mind so that they may understand followers more thoroughly in order to benefit the company or organization in the long run. Robert E. Kelley and Barbara Kellerman focus on the followers in the relationship because they are the major driving force in the success of a company or organization.
