The soldier was just an everyday guy, besides being in the wrong place at the wrong time, he did absolutely nothing to provoke the colonist to verbally attack him. Another soldier stepped up and told the man to be respectful, and out of spite the man insulted the other soldier as well. From what I could hear, the soldier had challenged the man and struck him with his musket. The man brought it upon himself, but started crying over exaggerated, drawn out cries. I kept walking away minding my own business,
A Most Undisciplined Profligate Crew Officers of the jersey brigade request several times for food supplies and clothing but nothing was sent. The officers had no choice but to manipulate the jersey assembly but they failed and some officers quit. For the next expedition, the officers once again requested for better pay and supplies too. George Washington was upset to hear about the officers; they were manipulating in giving up their jobs if the demands were not met. George Washington was worried that his will influence the rest of the military so they gave the officers better pay if they took back their petitions.
Bigger is panic-stricken so as a result, he goes into a delusional behavior, ignoring all the other vices he has committed as well as the problems he has created such as raping and killing Bessie. Although he knows what he carried out, he cannot control himself. After
How is this responsible? People believed that the PG was not a ‘true’ or ‘valid’ government. As they were not elected members, anyone could be made head of states or head of parliament making the PG ‘corrupt’ in the eyes of the Russian public. Carrying on with a lack of authority – the PG were seen as not revolutionary enough. During its leadership, the PG had two leaders: Prince Lvov – whose status as a member of the nobility immediately undermined the reforming credential as did its members as they were broadly liberal Octoberists and Kadet, which again, diluted its reforming enthusiasm.
He doesn’t know any better and could possibly end up doing something really bad because of this feeling. Mrs. Joe also continuously mentions how Pip is lucky that she has brought him up ‘by hand.’ One day when Pip was asking questions about the marshes, Mrs. Joe loses her patience and yells at Pip, saying, “I tell you what, young fellow, I didn’t bring you up by hand to badger people’s lives out. It would be blame to me, and not praise, if I had. People are put in the Hulks because they murder, and because they rob, and forge, and do all sorts of bad; and they always begin by asking questions.”(Page 13) This places a lot of guilt on Pip, making him feel like he shouldn’t ask any questions at all. To tell a little kid not to ask so many questions is a terrible thing.
So, if the Russian Revolution started out being for democracy then what happened? Basically Russia came into the 20th century as an extremely oppressed country that was ruled by the Czars. Russia was a feudal dictatorship. The people of Russia were horribly oppressed, poor, starving, cold, and without any real direction or hope. Essentially, Russia had never undergone the liberal revolutions that took place in Europe (starting with the French Revolution), which had established liberal democracy and capitalism there.
Cato said called out all of the wrongdoers and said that it was time for a change for the better. The people did not fear what Cato had said, and listened to him, but tuned out all of the lies from the other candidates. Cato won the election and became censor. Cato was a very strict ruler, he fired many consuls because of various questionable acts. He set taxes on the rich and regulated the water pipes in each house.
Poor harvests played a big part in causing the French Revolution since people were already angry with the King spending too much on himself and not enough on the country and then extreme weather such as snow and rain comes and causes the people of France to get even more annoyed even though the poor harvest was not the King’s fault. The poor harvests later caused the price of bread to shoot up which in turn forced people (especially people in the third estate) to spend more on bread and less on luxuries such as shoes and hats. This in turn affected most factory owners as they would’ve had to fire workers or lower wages of the current factory workers. This put unemployment at a very high rate due to factories having to fire workers and the people who did get fired would have to starve most days because they were not earning any money. This whole incident wouldn’t have been so bad if the Three Estates system was fairer since having all three estates paying the same amount of tax would enable the third estate to spend more on food such as bread instead of having the third estate paying the most tax and the first and second paying close to nothing.
Today we regret the actions that we made in war and so do other countries involved. Most of the time it was all the signs and messages before they had even left. Terrible pictures of propaganda depicting life if the enemy won making everyman feel it would be there fault if they didn’t help. Posters forcing them to join and even more posters dehumanizing the enemy. This happened on both sides and led to an unrelenting hate to each other.
For many, this was considered to be the final straw before the first revolution of 1905. They felt as though the Tsar, often considered to be their “little father”, and protector, had abandoned his people and been indifferent towards the losses of their lives. The peasants had only been marching, in peace, when the order came to gun them down, something that was obviously considered an unnaturally harsh attack. However, there were many other things that contributed towards the fire that sparked the 1905 revolution. There were still a lot of long term effects that were causing ill feeling towards the Tsar before Bloody Sunday even took place.
