Though John had sympathy for the family pressures she was facing, but her unpleasant behavior was affecting the efficiency of the entire team and the organization. On the other hand, Andy another employee with CES and a team member for the waste management committee, made it worse by creating negativity in the mind of Vincent on the very first day of his office. Vincent resigned his earlier job because of the internal politics and did not want the same issues again. Vincent tough tried in altering Gwen’s job description but knew she won’t be satisfied with that too. John’s inability to anticipate issues and take up steps to resolve the conflict arising due to the Vincent’s presence is harming the output of the organization.
Schlichtmann begins to be influenced by non market forces. He becomes more empathetic with the families who lost their children. His feelings get more intense and his motivating factor (money) is no longer his reason for pursuing the case. He probably could have settled for $25 million with both companies, but he wanted more for the families, so he let his emotions take over and caused the case to go to trial. During deliberations to determine if there was enough evidence to continue with the trial, Schlichtmann had a second opportunity to accept a $20 million offer from Beatrice Foods, again non market forces (his emotions) influenced his decision to decline the offer.

In life, unreliable people surround us. These people often break promises, bringing disappointment to others. Sometimes the undependable person may not realize the disappointment the empty promises bring to others. Like in the quote from “The Ship Shape” by David Sedaris, the father expected the family to be excited about the promises, but instead they were disappointed because they had been let down numerous times.
Even though, many men were drafted and did not have a choice about whether to serve their country or not, they were still treated with disrespect and unkindness when they came home. Vietnam vets began getting sick and dying after returning home. “Agent Orange” was discovered to be the possible cause of the illness and death; doubt grew toward the government and leaders once again. Echoes of what happened during the years of the Vietnam War still echo today, but maybe that is a good thing. The American people have learned to question the actions of its leaders and lend a voice to those who are in need.
Immigration In America In the late 19th century and early 20th century, millions of immigrants entered into the United States of America. Many of these immigrants came to America because they face persecution in their homelands. The immigrants were promised a new land of prosperity, riches, and freedom from persecution. But when many arrived they found out that this was not true and many of them still faced persecution and struggled to make enough money to live and eat well. Many of the immigrants had their own personal reasons to move to America, but there were some major push and pull factors that brought them here.
Bromden, uncomfortable with McMurphy’s deceit, refuses to accept the five dollars that McMurphy offers him later. McMurphy asks why all of a sudden everyone acts like he is a traitor, and Bromden tells him it is because he is always winning things. Ratched orders that everyone who went on the fishing trip be cleansed because of the company they kept. George has a phobia regarding cleanliness and begs the aides not to spray him with their smelly salve.
Most seamen were reluctant to continue service due to inhumane treatment. Several captains were court-martailed and released from service because of the treatment of their crew. Elena firstly trades her father’s pocket watch to bribe the NKVD officer to not take her son. She also trades wedding gifts for mail and other sundries in hope to help her and her family survive one more day. Finally, Andrius abuses his close relationship with the NKVD in order to obtain food to help himself and others to survive. He also helps Lina survive by returning her file which could have gotten her killed. As these characters survive they are constantly being broken by the NKVD, the environment, and the lack of nutrition.
Monetary value and pride is at the centerfold of every decision that the governments make. Three fellow soldiers came forward when Ortiz was arrested, saying that Mike was very angry when he came home from the deployment. Mike alienated most of his friends choosing not to talk about what were really bothering him. This actually brings up a very interesting point about soldiers and their unwillingness to get counseling. It may be because there is a stigma about going to get help being associated weakness or maybe soldiers feel like talking about their time during deployment brings up the memories of what they’ve done, seen, or experienced.
Subsequently, the settlement became highly dysfunctional since the English gentleman refused to do work that was necessary to the colonies survival. This difference in social status was one of the many problems faced by the Jamestown colony. These setbacks included disease, starvation, massive death rates, and the pending relationship with the Powhatan Native Americans. The Powhatan were initially friendly to the colonists and gave them food, but drought ended the Powhatans generosity. The colonists attacked the Powhatan to procure food and relations never recovered afterwards.
