Olson dreams of social acceptance and equality for our nation. Shulman dreams of a nation with old fashioned moral traditions. I can respect both. I do however think Shulmans argument was a bit ridiculous. I have read much better article opposing gay marriage that had much more constitutional relevance.
In order to understand homosexuality, you must understand full what it is. Homosexuals are attracted to their same sex. However, with that said this does not mean that the gay man wants to be a woman or the gay woman wants to be a man. Most are satisfied in their own body and they are just intimate with a person of their own sex. (Rathus, Nevid & Fichner-Rathus, 2005) Historical and scientific viewpoints are greatly significant in the way that gay persons distinguish themselves today and how the development of gay communities have grown and changed.

Response Paper: Homosexuality and The Christian I must admit reading this book changed a lot of my pre-conceived ideas about homosexuality, is causes, and possible treatment. Yarhouse did a fantastic job writing a book that could be filled with opinion, yet he supported his ideas with an ample sequence of research-based findings. His view of homosexuality is realistic and he discusses it in compartments covering each important aspect separately. I found the structure of the book to be very practical. The three main parts made it easier to find specific information related to God’s views, family questions, and the church stand.
In addition, there has been a growing emphasis placed on equal rights. These two movements have contributed to keeping the argument for same-sex marriage in the forefront. There are people who believe that although progress has been made, Christian values are still an obstacle for the progress that needs to take place and Brittney Baker is one of them. She compares and contrasts the relationship between the religious and gay community’s attitudes towards same-sex marriage. She puts forth rebuttals to many of the typical arguments for prohibiting same-sex marriage.
The Power of Ethos, Pathos, and Logos. In Evan Wolfsons anthology, he discusses many things that all relate back to the same thing; gay marriage. He starts off the section by talking about all the possible meanings of marriage, and then he quickly transitions into a discussion on gay rights regarding to marriage. Reading his story, he uses a couple different techniques to grab the reader’s complete interest and attention successfully. With Wolfsons methods he strikes the reader’s attention by proving his eligibility to speak on the topic, their emotions, and taps into their sense of logic.
In doing so, other states may have to follow along due to the Constitution’s Full Faith and Credit Claus. The meaning and definition of marriage will be changed if legal union of gay and lesbian couples are acknowledged. Bennett claims that marriage is recognized universally as an act meant to unite a man and a woman. Marriage is society’s most important institution; if same sex couples are able to marry, this important institution will be destroyed. Bennett’s article is effective
I talk about ‘gay’ marriage, and use multiple different homosexual related terms, so by defining a few terms I would like to give you, the reader, a better understanding of the LGBTQ, lesbian gay bisexual trans* queer, community. By doing this I also hope not to confuse the reader. First, marriage: Webster’s dictionary defines marriage as a social union or legal contract between people called spouses that established rights and obligations between spouses. Love, as a verb, is a deep attachment, romantic or otherwise, to someone, or between two people. The word ‘gay’ has multiple definitions.
