Firstly, many students and adults do not know enough about managing their finances which is why they tend to get in to debt. If financial literacy is taught in high then they will not have problem managing their finances because they will have that knowledge. According to the studies almost eighty percent of the people in dept are in dept because they do not make a financial plan as they were never taught to. These people lack the financial literacy skills. This is why teaching financial literacy in high school will benefit the students later in their life.
Recession is two consecutive quarters of negative economy growth. During recession, there is low level of demand because people don’t have much money to spend. So they look for cheaper products that they can afford. At this time businesses confidence gets low as people aren’t demanding for their products so they would have to cut out their productions as they don’t need to make as much products. At this time they would need to provide cheaper price to attract their consumers and to increase the demand.
If there is no minimum amount the company has to pay, it can save some costs that it might otherwise incur. 2. The company can hire more people at a lower income and in fact decrease unemployment 3. Time is limited and no amount of money will ever replace it. Because of the long hours these employees put in, it costs them time to care for their families and when they do find the time to spend with them, they are most likely suffering from fatigue because of the amount of work they put in for such minimal amount of money. Not only does this happen with adults but also children, who are snatched from school in order to provide necessities for survival. It becomes an endless cycle, these children continue to be uneducated and like their parents and they end up not having enough money to make a living. These people are taken advantage of.
Studies show that students who are over-age for their class was held back a grade level. Not completing assignments, late work, or just missing class led up to being held back a grade. Over-age students seem to need more help in the classroom, than the regular students. Adolescents pick many excuses to drop out of school. But during this economic recession, college students have been having a difficult time staying in the college path, especially working class students. The lack of moral support from their families prevents these unfortunate students to finish their college education. The increase of college tuition and limited financial aid are causing students to go into debt, making them hesitant whether they should keep studying or not. Also it’s preventing students from picking needed major but because the low paycheck they are not sure if they will be able to be sustained. But college drop outs also can able be due to the unequal college preparation given in high schools.
Studies have shown that if two thousand students sign up for the fall semester at the end of the fall semester there is one thousand nine hundred and ninety students left. There is a 99% chance that if you sign up for the fall classes that you will still be in them at the end of the semester. The ten students that dropped out of classes most likely dropped out because of financial reasons, medical reasons, or they weren’t doing their duties as a student to be on class on time and study for tests, not because of the opposite gender. The opposite sex should not be affecting the retention rates. Students are not missing class to go scope out the opposite sex and to spend all day with them not attending any of their classes.
Many teachers do not like “catching plagiarists and bringing them to academic justice.” As she states, it is not hard to just cite the author that originally had the information you are using (Bojar). Plagiarism is becoming a big problem in the school system. Many students do not understand what needs to be cited and what does not. The school system should teach students the proper way to cite, and they should teach them that copy and pasting is not writing a paper. Our education system has not improved with the times. The world has caught up and the US has yet to realize that long-term investment in schools and teachers is the best pay off for a worker and the country. Now the jobs are left with are the upper class people who are "symbolic analysts" using "mathematical algorithms, legal arguments, financial gimmicks, scientific principals, psychological insights," and other tools that usually come with a college or graduate degree. Then we have our lower-class comprised of low-level service jobs like waitressing, house-cleaning, security guards etc. Decreased social mobility is hard on the lower class because without being able to move forward, they are stuck in a cycle of poverty.
Why? Because low income family’s have a hard enough time supporting themselves, therefore parents are much less likely to donate to the school, volunteer for school meetings, or fund raisers, and also attracts lower performing teachers.
