Abstract A Christmas gift to the people of Leuven, Belgium was the birth of Stella Artois. In 1366 the Den Hoorn Brewer was established and where it set the foundation for the quality and taste of the beer that is known today as Stella Artois. Brew Master Sebastian Artois purchased the Den Hoorn Brewery in 1717 and changed its name to The Artois Brewery. The brewery was internationally known and loved, one Christmas, Sebastian brewed a special batch for the people of Leuven. In honor of Leuven, its name is positioned on the bottle. Stella is Latin for “star” which can be found on every bottle then and even today (S.A, 2015). The bottle also dawns the picture of the brewery as it was in 1366. The history of Stella Artois is still on every bottle today which is in honor of its history. This paper takes a look at the journey the brand has taken and where it is going today.
