This home carbonation machine can be used to carbonate any drink at home only. This company focuses on environmentally sustainable approach to market and manufacture its products. The company was near bankruptcy when Birnbaum joined the company in 2007 as the New CEO. He identified that company required new thought and goals to boost up the company sales and a make comeback in market. Birnbaum figured out that instead of competing in home carbonation business the company can directly go on war with beverage industry. He realized that this would help SodaStream to reach new heights. For achieving its new goals SodaStream adopted various marketing strategy, one of which was advertising at Super Bowl. The case study in detail discusses how this step of the company helped them achieve publicity that it aimed at. The advertisement used by the company directly took a shot at famous beverages like Coke and Pepsi. However the company faced problem in airing the original advertisement, as it got rejected by CBS and they had to change advertisement which was less direct towards Coke and Pepsi. But in sudden turn of events the advertisement came to notice of millions of people through You Tube and it helped company garner the popularity it was looking for. Also many stories and reports were written about this ad campaign and the message it wanted to convey.
