There's been a lot of debate about whether Reality TV does more harm than good to the young viewers and people in general. But really, I think that Reality TV is very much beneficial for the society. Contestants on the show and viewers can learn more about how people react to different situations and relationships with others. These life skills are incredible important to know. X Factor, eg teaching people about is what it takes to realize their dream. Qualities such as persistence, hard work and unwavering determination. These qualities are also found in many other shows such as Masterchef and Australia's Got Talent. Not only that, the Participants have the opportunity to experience first hand what is necessary to realize their dream. Yes, many reality shows are scripted, however that does not mean you can not learn about human interactions from them. Books, too, are scripted. Does that mean you can not learn from them? Viewers may have a distorted view of reality, but that can actually be beneficial. After all, a little bit of fantasy can lead us to achieve great things. "It is our intention creates our reality", as quoted by the author and lecturer Wayne Dyer. This means that our actions create what we are as individuals. As Dr. Seuss once said, "Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in ingredien life. It is a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope, and allows us to not take life too seriously. " In this sense, reality TV gives normal people like you and me - hope. Be exposed to people and situations you would not normally encounter in your daily life has a positive impact on many young viewers as it makes them aware of, and social diversity.
