Smoky Mountain High As I packed the family up in the car, excitement was running through my body, and thoughts of the mountains ran through my mind. It was a long trip from Florida every year, but it was worth the trip and plenty of time for excitement to build. Seven hours to be exact, but finally after that seventh hour of driving I made it to the winding roads of the Smoky Mountains. The excitement was almost overwhelming, but I knew I still had awhile before I could set around the campfire and relax and let all the stress melt away. As I stood there looking the sounds of the crickets was getting louder which meant it was time to head back to the campsite and for me to finally make that campfire. I made it back to camp right before the rays of the sun stop slicing through the trees. All the children was laughing and chasing the lighting bugs with jars just hoping to catch a few to watch them glow, while I was making the campfire. After about five to ten minutes of trying to get the campfire going the family where able to gather around the fire as a family to roast marshmallows for smores. Have to be carefully though that chocolate marshmallowie mess can burn your tongue. It was getting late. You can tell because the temperature was dropping and all the children were yawning. The children was told it was time for bed, of course you get the all man and do we have to. They said good night and went to there tents. While the children were a sleep in there tents. The adults sat around the campfire for a couple more hours taking it in before bed, the smell of the oak burning, the warmth of the fire and sounds of the night which was peaceful.
