Should Abortion Be Legal Since abortion is legal in the United States. Should a woman have the right to abort her fetus? Even though it is her body is it mainly up to her. Life has choices that should be made with the intention of one’s better future according to (Hemingway). Abortion should not be legal because it is immoral. One is depriving the fetus of a possible life. The loss of one’s life is one of the greatest losses on can suffer. The loss of one’s life deprives one of all the experiences, activities, projects, and enjoyments that would otherwise have constituted one’s future (Waller, 2008, pg 270). Some people have come to think that some women choose abortion as a means of birth control. Having baby is a very emotional time in a female life. No matter what type of problem may come up if you don’t want the baby don’t kill the give it up for adoptions. There so many people who can’t have baby would love to adopt. We know if abortion was illegal there would so many female having these backdoor abortions going to other countries trying to get rid of the fetus. According to the Supreme Court if abortion were in fact a homicide it would be called a “compelling state interest”. So they don’t understand that this eliminates the legal right of that unborn child. Abortion is against doctor’s Hippocratic Oath “First, do no harm”. Killing a fetus a human being doesn’t serve any higher medical purpose and is therefore a violation of the oath. (Life amendment and ampn.d.18) The original text of Hippocratic Oath reads as followed: “I will not give a woman a pessary {a device inserted into the vagina} to cause an abortion.” The modern version of the Hippocratic Oath written in 1964 by Luis Lasagna also forbids abortion in its line, “Above all, I must not play at God”.
