Additionally people also associate his name with the famous portrait of the great revolutionary general leading his troops to battle across the Delaware River on the front of a rowboat. However General Washington’s military was far from the organized military force that is depicted in many pictures in history books and museums. The General faced many challenges while leading his troops during the revolutionary war. His forces were ill disciplined, ill equipped, and inexperienced.
Jorge Farragut, James’s father, was a United States army and navy officer . James was born an innocent and carefree young boy, but soon enough he would become one of the most well known heroes in the history of the United States. James father was born out of a sea faring family that lived on an island called Minorca off of Spain. Jorge emigrated to America in 1776 and was in the revolutionary war before James was born. James mother, Elizabeth died in 1808 when James was at the immature age of seven.

The Monroe Doctrine Forty-seven years after the Declaration of Independence enter James Monroe, fifth President of the United States (1817-1825). Monroe was born in Westmoreland County, Virginia April 28, 1758. He was of the planter class, and fought in the American Revolutionary War. After the war Monroe would study law under Thomas Jefferson, and then serve as a delegate in the Continental Congress. Monroe was extremely active as an anti-federalist delegate and helped prevent ratification of the United States Constitution stating it gives too much power to central government.
Why did Parliament win the Civil War? The First Civil War lasted several years and it was not clear who was to win. In the end however, Parliament did succeed, and the King failed. The generals were a major factor, they inspired there army to fight well and bravely and had to work out the tactics that were to be used.
