Serenity and Tranquility The crashing of the waves, the sweet and salty taste and smell of the water, the warm sand between your toes, the cool winds blowing your hair as you walk along the water. All of these things describe my place of peace. This place I am describing is the beach. To me, the beach is the most relaxing and rejuvenating place in the world. The beach is my sacred place because unlike life and reality, it stays the same and you always know what to expect when you arrive there. Every year, for a week my family and I travel to a vacation spot always located directly on the beach. Usually, we go to Florida, visiting family and just enjoying a week without chaos or problems and just relaxation. Though I live in Ohio and we have no beach here, I take this one week each year making the most of it. Just sitting on the balcony at our condo, lying in the sand, or even swimming in the ocean is very relaxing to me. Watching, feeling, and hearing the waves is extremely calming. It is completely different then just swimming in or sitting next to any ordinary pool. Throughout my entire life, my family has always played a major role in the things that I do, the places we go as a family and even part of helping me to have this sacred place. My dad works extremely hard year-round to be able to afford these lavish vacations we take. He and my mom with a little help from me do lots of planning, calling for reservations, booking hotels and with all of this hard work, we plan an amazing trip. While on this trip, we try to spend most of our time relaxing but doing it as a family. Each of us picks one day of the trip and for the whole day we do what the other person plans. This vacation is not meant just to get away from reality but, to bond as a family. All of us are getting older now and as we get older, these trips are the reason why we remain so close knit. Last
