Although there are a lot of people not taking the consequences and their impact on global warming seriously, it`s already a huge danger thinking about future generations and the protection of humanity. Therefore humans have to understand that if they don’t improve their way of living they are going to destroy our planet. Firstly it’s important to mention that climate changes triggered by the nature have always been there. Due to naturally inevitable principles like the continental drift, variability in solar radiation, chain in the Earth's orbit and volcanic emissions, ice ages and temperatures like nowadays alternated. Scientists have correctly been showing that if we had no greenhouse effect the earth’s average temperature would be much colder and consequently human life would be impossible.
Explain the effects of climate change use examples. On the whole, climate change has very negative consequences on people and the environment in the long term, and if nothing is done to prevent the ongoing increase in temperature, then plant and animal species globally will be faced with extinction. The only positive impact being that as the temperature rises by three degrees centigrade, crop yield in western Europe will increase, which will give the UK an economic boost for trade, since more variety of food can be grown. With the increase of temperature and the retreating of glaciers, the sea levels have been rising at about 3.3mm every year, which doesn’t seem like a lot however this is enough of an increase for the Tuvalu islands, in the Pacific Oceans, to start being submerged by water. The population of some of the 9 islands has started to be evacuated to New Zealand with on average 75 people moving every year.
Nature had given to homo-sapiens an authority to dominate and control the earth but homo-sapiens have abused this authority by harming nature itself. Therefore, we should change our relation with nature and civilization; we need to change our mentality by living in ecocentric world, not in anthropocentric civilization any longer. Anthropocentric worldview causes many problems also living with this mentality has many bad results and one of these results is global warming. Because of global warming temperature of oceans has increased four times that it had in 1900s. (http://www.ghf-ge.org/human-impact-report.pdf).
In my opinion I would said that the more methane is created the worse is for the planet since it would increase the temperatures. How methane is a real danger According to scientists, there were life in Alaska millions years ago, but as the winter came the animals froze and discompose, making methane to be created. Since the creation of methane it cause Alaska to be a timing explosive for the world’s climate. Methyl clathrates are the methane molecules of methane that are frozen down in the ice in the permafrost. If the temperature or the pressure changes, all the methane that is froze in the ice would escape.
This is due to an increased concentration of greenhouse gases. These effects may not be direct to all organisms, they may have a secondary impact such as loss of habitat, disrupted food chains and denaturation of enzymes. One of the biggest and possibly most obvious outcomes of rising global temperatures is the rising sea levels. The lower lying cities and countries in the world, for example, Venice in Italy, are likely to become flooded more frequently, and in time, may even become completely submerged in water. This would mean that any organism whose niche does not incorporate the new conditions are more likely to move away from the area, or be wiped out - this is more likely to happen to the more terrestrial animals.
We then, can assume the reason for the increasing temperature was resulted from industries, over-powering energy with coal during that specified time period. Manufacturing produces massive amounts of carbon dioxide along with other greenhouse gases, resulting in warming the whole planet, hene causes climate changes. Thus, it can be concluded that humans have a strong correlation with the increasing temperature and climate changes that are happening
Biomes and Climate Change by vburnin The biome I researched is the arctic tundra 1. Climate change has had several impacts on the abiotic factors of the arctic tundra. One of these factors is the length of the seasons, winters begin late and springs come earlier. It has been observed that changing world temperatures effect colder places the most. Rising temperatures in the arctic tundra have led more permafrost and snow to melt than usual causing the tundra to be converted to wetlands.
Climate Change and the Rise of Sea Levels Climate change is one of the most serious issues facing the world today. Of its many disconcerting effects on the environment, few are as concerning as global warming, the slow but constant rise in temperature. While this gradual increase in atmospheric temperatures may not currently seem like an imminent threat, its potential long-term impact—not just on coastal communities, but on the world at large—constitutes a threat of the highest order. Shorelines are eroding faster than ever, and the storms that batter those shorelines are increasing in frequency and strength. For these reasons, many have taken it into their own hands to try and help slow the regression of shorelines, flooding, and other effects of global warming of shorelines.
Over the years, people have been exposed to air pollution which was brought by human’s lifestyle and activities. Most of these have also been causes of global warming. Global warming is when the earth heats up (the temperature rises). It happens when greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, water vapor, nitrous oxide, and methane) trap the sun’s heat in the earth’s atmosphere, which increases the temperature. This hurts many people, animals, and plants.
The Day After 2012 In a chaotic situation where from one day to another everything around is destroying in pieces, the two choices are to accept the time has come or do what is possible to remain alive. The Day After Tomorrow and 2012 are two films that experience a terrible Global warming disaster, and face a situation where they have to escape to survive. The Global Warming is accelerating and affecting not only the weather, but the Earth too. In The Day After Tomorrow a massive ice shelf breaks off Antarctica, and follow by an Ice Age heading their way. Unlike in 2012, the Earth’s core temperature starts to rise, and begins to warn that the crust will become unstable very soon.
