Outcome 2 Know how to address conflicts or dilemmas that may arise between an individual’s rights and the duty of care 1 Sometimes individuals may want to do something which could be a risk to their Health and safety. As a carer you have a duty of care to that person and you must do all that you can to keep them safe but you also have a duty to respect the individuals rights and choice, so you have a dilemma. It could be that the individual no longer wishes to use her walking frame, but her care plan states that she needs it to move from place to place and you are to ensure you encourage it’s use. In this scenario you could carry out a risk assessment to ensure that it is managed as safely as possible. 2 There are many ways to manage risks associated with conflicts and dilemmas:- * Allowing individuals to explore with guidance, * Making individuals aware of potential hazards and dangers, * Allowing individuals to acquire life skills through learning how to cope with risky situations, * Staff ignorance, * Parents are a risk to staff if reported to social services.
207 Implement person centred approaches in health and social care 1.1 Define person-centred values Treating people as individuals, Making sure people have their privacy, Making sure people have access to their rights, Treating people with dignity and respect, Supporting people to be as independent as possible 1.2 Explain why it is important to work in a way that embeds person centred values. Taking into account person centred values makes me work better for the individual person, rather than imposing my own choices on them and taking away their own right to independence and choice. 1.3 Explain why risk-taking can be part of a person centred approach Taking risks means that you are able to choose and be in control of what you do. You need to ensure that concerns about taking risks is not stopping you living the way you want to. A risk assessment can always be carried out to see if it is possible for someone to do something that they thought would not be possible.
By fully supporting service users with specific communication needs you are able to support their rights. 3. It is difficult and frustrating to communicate effectively when there is background noise, therefore arranging the environment to aid communication is very important step to achieving effective communication with service users. As a carer you should arrange the individual’s environment to facilitate effective communication and
How is Deterrence Related to Humiliation? Abstract Deterrence is a method punishment where the public general ‘deter’ or discourage the criminal offenders from committing crimes. In today society theirs two types of deterrence that exists, general and specific. The specific deterrence argues that by punishing an individual for the unacceptable crime they committed will stop them from repeating this crime all over again, and maybe this will be seen as a lesson for the offender future. General deterrence is a punishment which aims to the whole society from committing similar crimes.
Keeping active is good for all of our body systems. Losing independence can have a negative impact on individual health and well-being. 2, Explain how active participation promotes independence in the task of daily living Active involvement in learning to develop life skill can help individual to become independent. Learning in a safe environment and knowing that there is support at hand in case it is needed will give a individual confident and reassurance. Some individual who are being supported in the community will find care worker support and encouragement invaluable.
I have to act in the person’s best interest but instead of encouraging them to avoid risks I have to support them and enable them to taking part in activities. I have to act in the individuals best interest, keep them safe, carry out risk assessments, promote informed choices but also respect their decision and right to live their life as they choose. If the risk seems great to me I would document it and discuss the matter with my manager. Another area where duty of care dilemmas may arise are confidentiality issues. When a confidential information is shared with me and it concerns safeguarding and there is a possibility of harm or someone’s wellbeing is threathened I might have to make a decision and disclose this information.
Every conflict has its significant implications on administrative and departmental officer procedures. The mainly problem that always occurring is the physical brutality, which the main goal is to get the police department to enforce and adopt a written policy. However, polices limiting actions will bring most of debate especially from the police officers themselves. “Many feel that their firepower is already too weak to battle the weapons criminals have on the streets, and limiting their legality of gun use will not only endanger them, but the innocent bystanders who must endure the hierarchy gun power creates in the benefit of criminals.” (Bouza, Anthony. 1990) It’s necessary to ask help from the superior officers so that a tolerance of brutality will not establish.
Principles for implementing duty of Care Outcome 1 Understand how duty of care contributes to safe practice Duty of care as a domiciliary care worker is to put each individuals needs first ensuring that their needs are met, ensuring no harm can come to them as a direct result of my actions acting within the level of my ability under the polices the government has in place. My employer also has a duty of care to me ensuring a safe working environment and that all equipment is maintained correctly. Duty of care safe guards individuals when they are at their lowest in their lives and can not do it for themselves where they are at a risk of injury to themselves abuse by others where it be by family friends anyone they come into contact with. We need to

In doing so, they created new state police organizations because of many corruptive one that were misleading, dishonorable, and not a “fan” for the citizens they were supposed to be protecting. Because of this vast change, police really sought out to change the personified image of law enforcement as a collective whole (Lentz & Chaires, 2007).
(Gray) When a crime has occurred its important to deal with it, to reduce the number of offences committed in society/ community.
