Many people visit the mansion not only just for the beauty but for it’s joy and happiness shared within the plantation. It has 250 rooms, 65 fireplaces located within the mansion. It also has many different areas to go to have fun like the farm, the gardens, bowling alleys, and even a gymnasium. But there are some things that I still don’t know and would like the answer for them.
This also means that they were cheap and it only took less than a week to build a motte and bailey castle. As well as that, motte and bailey castles could be made portable which means the Normans could transport a castle from Normandy to England. This was very useful because they already had a starting point and had some

Hailey Collins Period One Jan. 19, 2014 Brunelleschi Some people look around Florence and see many different sights and attractions. There are many things in this world that are beautiful but the most show stopping of them all in my opinion is the Santa Maria degli Angeli also known as El Duomo (built in 1436). The mastermind behind this cutting edge architecture was Fillipo Brunelleschi. Brunelleschi was a highly thought of Middle Age architect who shared many of his learning’s with the community around him to make some magnificent structures still standing today. Brunelleschi was born in 1377 in Florence, Italy where he later died in April 15, at the age of sixty-nine.
The small round-headed windows in the ground floor are also original features. At the end of the 12th century, Chepstow passed by marriage to William Marshal, a formidable soldier of fortune, and earl of Pembroke. With considerable experience in military architecture in France, he set about bringing fitz Osbern's castle up to date. He rebuilt the east curtain wall, with two round towers projecting outwards, in order to protect this vulnerable side. Arrow-slits in the towers were designed to give covering fire to the ground in front of the curtain, and this was one of the earliest examples of the new defensive mode which was to become characteristic of the medieval castle.
Devotion to Saint Joseph, was fervent in the East from the early ages, and has spread and increased. Today, Catholics of all nations honor him. There are many stories about the miraculous intervention of Saint Joseph. One is a medieval account of how a famine in Sicily was ended after a Novena to Saint Joseph. A more recent story is of the mysterious "itinerant carpenter" who volunteered to build an architecturally unique spiral staircase in a convent chapel in Santa Fe, New Mexico, which is as sound today as when it was first built, and has never needed repair.
It is the seat of the Bishop of Durham. It is built on the high ground above the River Wear. The present cathedral was founded in 1093 AD and is one of the finest examples of Romanesque architecture in the world. Durham Cathedral contains the shrine of St Cuthbert and was and still is a place of pilgrimage. The building of huge cathedrals in the middle ages was seen as a reflection of faith.
With his determination Justinian was able to keep the Roman heritage and the Roman culture going for another thousand years. Justinian was a good ruler but had some defects in the way he ruled. Justinian was a good ruler because most of the things that he did were to please his people. One example of that was the completion of the Hagia Sophia in 537. The Hagia Sophia was a place people could go to honor and serve god.
Ultimately our role is to imbed recovery across Scotland and to do this successfully it was necessary to take stock of the work already taking place and assess where we could add value and support, while also generating projects of our own. There have been numerous highlights during our first year. Perhaps the most obvious and certainly most visible being the UK Recovery Walk 2010 where hundreds gathered to show recovery is a reality. But highlights don’t always have to be as visible to so many... Our work has taken us across Scotland where we have met many people in recovery who are living, breathing proof that recovery can and does happen. We have worked with people keen to share their story to help others and held events across the country where people in recovery have shared their hopes and fears in relation to the recovery agenda.
