At 9 in the morning, it was our duty to prepare children for breakfast, this consisted of helping them to clear away their toys, attach bibs to them and sit them around a table. After breakfast had ended, I then had to wipe their faces and get toys out for them to play with. While the children were playing, I had to make sure that all breakfast items were took down stairs and put away. For a while i would play with the children until 10.30 when the music man came. When the music man came, I had to make sure that all toys were cleared away and that the children were sat in a circle and ready.
I greet every patient in the morning . If I have anything important to tain with them about I talk with parents when we have parent teacher’s conference, I also talk with the parents on the phone. I also talk at my breathtime, I have parent a communication board to let parents know about newsletters, calendars or any type of allergies that the kids might have. I also put up a birthday board reconizing the children birthdays I have live pictures on the walls of different activities we do there out the room as well as outside, we have different projects for the summer posted up front to let them know about our unique programs . Provide him/her with a copy of the books that you read aloud so that he/she can follow along. You might also allow the student to take the book home to read if necessary. Place this student in the front of the room and make sure to position yourself close to him/her when speaking. Make sure he/she is not near the classroom door, windows, or other locations that might present auditory distractions. Make sure the student can see you when you are speaking.
Pre-assessment/Prior knowledge: How will you learn what the students already know about the topic? How will this inform instruction? I met with students last week to see what chapter and were they are at in their book clubs. I have also read their books so I can compare and see what the students already know. I can ask questions about what happened prior in the story and what happened since we last met.
