A – Reflect on how national strategies involving multi-agency working can improve the health of the children and the community I believe the Graham Allen Report has made a large contribution to improving the health of children, and also the society. He wrote a report to testify how important it is for early intervention to take place in order to support the health of the child and to help community with fewer costs. ‘Intervening earlier with troubled families can not only prevent children and their parents falling into a cycle of deprivation, anti-social behaviour and poverty but can save thousands if not millions of pounds in the longer term.’ C4EO (2011) ‘Grasping the nettle: early intervention for children, families and communities’ Ncb, Nfer Page 14.It is a brilliant idea and plan to help improve and succeed a better level of health and well-being of children but intervening as early as possible as ‘Early Intervention enables every baby, child and young person to acquire the social and emotional foundations upon which our success as human beings depends.’ ’ Allen, G (2011) ‘Early Intervention: The next steps’ HM Government, Pages 3 & 4. On the other hand, it saves money for the society in the longer term as it costs much less when the problem is discovered earlier so it is easier to solve the problem. If the problem was left for longer, this would be much harder to tackle and more money would be spent to solve the problem.
Edison learned that hard work and perseverance would eventually lead to success and would bring about improvements to society. Therefore, it is clear that even if goals are not immediately achieved, they can still hold tremendous value. Another historical example is Mother Teresa, whose goal was to raise awareness about the poor communities in India. Although the situation was very difficult and troublesome during that time, Mother Teresa still endeavored her best to facilitate the poor people with dedication. Despite the fact that she meet met some obstacles toward the road to achieve her goal, such as lack of financial support and some volunteers, she still hold held her dauntless persuasion will.
This involved the support of parents, foster parents, authorities, youth activities and youth justice as well as policy makers and teachers. Policies were set out to reduce the number of children who experience educational failure, engage in anti-social behaviour, ill-health and teen pregnancies. Task 1b Five key themes have been identified by children as being the areas which mattered the most to them: * Economic well-being – not being prevented from achieving their full potential in life as a result of economic disadvantage * Making a positive contribution – being involved in the community and society and not engaging in anti-social or offending behaviour * Enjoying and achieving – getting the most out of life and developing the skills for adulthood * Staying safe – being protected from harm and neglect * Being healthy – enjoying good physical and mental health and living a healthy lifestyle The paper set out to; support families/carers in raising children, to inject necessary intervention before crisis point and prevent children from ‘slipping through the net’, address the underlying issues such as weak accountability and poor integration and also to value the
While they mature quicker and they may be learning crucial life skills, these lessons are not without substantial risk. The solutions exist, but it takes volunteer power from schools and churches, and the flexibility of management over our workplaces. “It takes a village…” is a common phrase pertaining to the raising of children. The whole community at every level needs to rededicate their efforts into making the world a safer place for children. Only then will the problem of latchkey kids be
This has me questioning, were the right people entering the profession for the right reasons? I know throughout my training, I will work extremely hard to become the social worker the children deserve and need. With more caring, altruistic and dedicated people coming into the profession we can minimise the deaths and risks of children when under our intervention. Working with vulnerable children will be assiduous,
We need to vote and choose and also encourage others to vote and choose as well. We need to advocate for the children and education, as the children have the most to lose. Childcare workers state that the number one reason that they stay in their job is because of the love of the children. In the PowerPoint, the information on advocating for education and children is given. Why should we advocate, the goal of early childhood advocacy is to improve the lives of infants and toddlers, their families, and our community by influencing legislators and policy makers opinions, decisions and actions concerning early childhood.
A socialist system is best in responding to those in need during the earthquake in Haiti because everyone affected needs assistance regardless of class or if they can’t afford to survive after their loss. This system allows the government and organizations to help build homes, provide medical care, and food to people in need. It can also help provide in other ways, we can help provide education so people in Haiti that way people can have a greater chance getting jobs to lower their unemployment rate. With an opportunity for people in Haiti to learn skills, trades, or a chance to continue their schooling, they would have a greater chance to provide for their families after a catastrophe. The cost to heat our homes in the winter time is due to the laws of supply and demand.
Disparity and Discrimination August 25, 2008 Emerson Ashley Cultural Diversity in Criminal Justice CJA/423 University of Phoenix Steve Freitas Safety is the top priority in today’s society. Each parent should thrive to ensure that their children comes from a stable environment, follow all necessary steps to ensure good health, be successful and actively involved in getting a good education so that the adaptation into the job market is based on what that person works for more so than what is handed to that person. Most people would prefer to get ahead in life and be very successful but unfortunately that is not possible for every citizen. This fact is supported by conflicts among members of society along with disparities that exist which has been further complicated by the high number of immigrants and minorities that reside in the US. Because of the disparities, discrimination exists and discrimination should not be accepted or tolerated in today’s society.
Although this issue does not center in substance abuse, it is another taboo subject that should be taken into account and its principles directly applied. A positive relationship between parents and their children is very helpful in establishing a communicative practice and it is also a healthy way of relieving stress. If a child is comfortable explaining and expressing many aspects of their daily life with their family than they are more likely to avoid trouble and stay away from negative influences. Not only does it help with prevention; it is valuable to possible intervention in the future. My whole life I was brought up to talk to my
These institutes were used to help orphaned children, the disabled, and the elderly. According to our text, “Society expects from its citizens and the way it organizes its important institutions-the family, the system of governance and control-can either nurture or stunt people’s impulses to give help to relatives, friends, and needy strangers”(Mandell& Schram,2012, p. 28). Changing Nature of Helping Reciprocity is considered as a strong determining factor of human behavior. Positive reciprocal actions will bring a positive response. For example giving something for nothing is a perfect example of reciprocity.
