The great pyramid of Khufu is by far the most famous pyramid in egypt, the biggest, tallest, and most intact. It is one of the "Seven wonders of the world." It is the last one standing. It is built of entirely limestone and consinlered an architectural masterpiece. It contains around 1,300,000 blocks ranging in weight from 2.5 tons to 15 tons and is built on a square base with sides measuring about 230m (775 ft.) covering 13 acreas!

May 18, 1981 - The New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission declares the building a landmark. 1986 - National Parks Service recognizes it as a National Historic Landmark. September 11, 2001 - Becomes the tallest building in New York City again after the collapse of the World Trade Center. 2002 - Peter L. Malkin purchases the building while holding the 114-year lease; becomes owner and manager.

The first fleet under Arthur Phillip arrived in Australia on the 26th of January 1788 and was the first European settlement and penal colony at Sydney Cove, New South Wales. It is on this day, every year, Australia Day is celebrated. Governor Phillip was instructed to establish the first British colony and was made Captain-General and Governor-in-Chief of New South Wales. In 1791, another British colony arrived in Western Australia when George Vancouver claimed the Albany region in the name of King George III. In 1827, Western Australia was established.
It is located in Giza where it guards the front of Khafra's pyramid. The greatest monumental sculpture in the ancient world, the Sphinx is carved out of a single ridge of stone 240 feet (73 meters) long and 66 feet (20 meters) high. The sphinx is built of soft sandstone and would have disappeared long ago had it not been buried for so long. It was the first time that a pharaoh had been represented in this way with the body of a lion, even though this animal had symbolised royalty ancient Egypt’s beginnings around 3000 BC. The animal body of the Sphinx in fact represented the king’s triumphant strength.
When looking at all the masterpieces throughout history, Islamic art is not often one that immediately jumps to mind. After delving deeper into the culture of Islam, it becomes apparent that Islamic art ought to be more recognized than it currently is. The art found in this region is unique than that of other cultures because almost everything that is done is based off of their religious practices or beliefs. A novice of Islamic Art should immediately notice that all of their masterful architecture stems from religion, in fact they almost always are Mosques, or homes of the religious practices. Aside from the Mosque, their other great artistic creations are what is referred to as “Luxury Arts”.
