George Washington, who was the first President of the United States of America, according to the Gregorian calendar, was born on February 22, 1732, in Colonial Virginia, being the first-born child of his father’s (Augustine Washington’s) marriage to Mrs. Mary Ball Washington.[1] The first president of the U.S.A. was born in to a well-connected and wealthy family, who owned tobacco plantations on which slave labor was extensively used. At the early age of 11 years, he lost his father and an older brother, who both had been home schooling him , and George Washington then became attached to the Fairfax clan, which was at that time very powerful, and they aided him in his career as a soldier…show more content…
