In a social work environment communication can be an essential tool in order to meet the needs of a vulnerable adult. It is a basic requirement in the social care role to communicate with the individuals you care for their families and also with other members of staff involved with their care on a daily basis. Communicating with the other staff members you work with shows team working and continuity of care. It also ensures health and safety issues are recognised and reported. One form of this communication is a verbal handover at the beginning and end of each shift, there is also the filling in of relevant communication books and care plans for each of the individuals you care for, this keeps others in the knowledge of the current situation in the work place with service users.
Unit 5 3.1 To provide an efficient, well run person centred service I have to work with many different professionals from different agencies and organisations. It is an important part of my role as manager to work in partnership with others as it means that we have the chance to share our knowledge and skills but also observe that of other professionals and extend their knowledge and skills at the same time. To work effectively with professionals as a manager I need to * Communicate effectively with others in the interest of the service users * Identify and challenge discriminatory practices * Apply interviewing, listening and observation skills of the joint assessment process and shared reports * Negotiate and organise skills that enable good team working * Deal with difficult situations and manage conflict 3.4 The effectiveness of any professional partnerships can be judged on its failures and/or successes. It is important to be clear about the purpose of professional partnerships and to monitor the actions and resources they use. It is important to review, measure and monitor any progress against the set objectives and have regular progress reports.
If a Care Order is granted, then the local authority share parental responsibility for the children with the mother and the father (if he already has parental responsibility - attached is a Parental Responsibility Information Sheet). The local authority would, however, in practice usually have the final say if there was a dispute between parents and the local authority about the children, for example, over where the children should live. WHAT IS AN INTERIM CARE ORDER ? An Interim Care Order is applied for at the beginning of Care Proceedings and if made, is reviewed at regular intervals by the Court prior to a final hearing. However, an Interim Care Order can be contested by the parents at any stage during the proceedings.
Unit 1 Introduction to communication in Health, Social Care or Children's and young people's settings 1.1– Identify different reasons why people communicate There are many different reasons why people communicate, both in work settings and social settings. There is a range of different groups of communities were everyone communicates with on a daily basis, which could include family and friends, school, neighbours, friends and of course work colleagues and residents with in my work environment. All relationships we have weather they are social or work based start with a form of communication. People use communication to express how they are feeling and also to express what they would like or want. This can be different for every person and depends on the circumstances of that particular person who you may be communicating with.
This includes Medicaid service coordination, day services, residential services, health services, and life prep, employment services, training solutions, transportation, and family support services. This organization serves the population with developmental, mental, and physical disabilities. They also attend any appointments the child has and help the parent make an informed decision for their child. Each client is assigned a service coordinator. The service coordinator can help locate services to help the family meet their needs.
People communicate to pass and receive information and build a relationship. They also communicate to show their feelings and to express their emotions and be able to socialise with other people. In the health and social care setting there are many different working relationships. These relationships will include: carers, manager, professionals such as doctors and nurses, service users and their family. For each group a different type of working relationship exists.

3. Describe the functions of external agencies with whom your work setting or service interacts We work with various external agencies. These agencies, for example CAMHS and school/college, work with us as well as the young person to give support to the young person. CAMHS provide counselling to the Young Person if they wish and always encourage our work place to keep in touch and offer to support our Young People whenever needed. Other services include social services, who ultimately ensure that the young people are receiving the care and support that they need.
