Slut challenges the beliefs held in association of the powerful word. Slut has been used historically against women; in this case slut is for women. The policeman used the label slut and by reusing it under their own term’s SlutWalk’s name alone is a direct challenge. The SlutWalk initiative wants mainly for the police force to change their attitudes towards slut shaming and victim
Their focus is on the control factors that prevent people from committing criminal or delinquent acts (Gottfredson & Hirschi, 1990; Hirschi, 1969; Nye, 1958; Reckless, 1967; Reiss, 1951; and Sykes & Matza, 1957). People obey the law because they are responding to appropriate social controls. People who violate the law do so because their social controls are not working or their bonds to law-abiding people have been broken or were never developed (Reiss, 1951). The question becomes not how to prevent criminal behavior, but how to get people to engage in law-abiding behavior. This paper examines a variety of approaches by social control theorists.

Our ideas about race and racial identity are clouded by these preemptive thoughts that distort our views about others. It is once again our responsibility to create a new image of darkness. We can begin to deconstruct the racial boundaries by examining the situation in regards to the word “twilight”. Twilight doesn’t have any boundaries, it is an in-between state. If we begin to see darkness in terms of twilight, we are taking a step in the right direction and dismantling boundaries set by societal norms.
We do not officially sanction the use of beating & torture or execution for sex crimes. The printing of sex offender on one’s driver’s license as well as posting of warnings on websites could be seen as opening the door to vigilante behavior. Personally, I have no problem, just some pause, with such notifications, but there may be court challenges by some civil libertarian groups in re to such practices. There are even sex offender advocacy groups, such as ReformSexOffenderLaws.Org, set up for the purpose of modifying/overturning laws they perceive as unfair. The disconcerting thing is that on some issues a valid point is made practically as well as
In addition, I find it important to mention one of the keep points that were touched upon in this chapter with regards to the ways in which prostitution is dealt with by law enforcement officials. While the police chiefs aim to arrest more prostitutes, they are being undermined by the policemen under their control. In fact, as I read this book I found that based on data, prostitutes are highly more likely to provide a free service to a policeman then actually get arrested. From there the chapter simply reviewed how law enforcement aims to deal with the ever-growing problem of illegal activities. Their efforts are primarily unproductive.
Article One The purpose of the article is to state why Measure Q, a proposition on the November 2004 ballot in the city of Berkeley, is negative and should not be passed. Measure Q it set up to make enforcement of all prostitution laws the lowest priority of Berkeley's police department. Mr. Weitzer claims that there are three main reasons why this law would not solve the social problem of prostitution. First, the author of Measure Q does not provide adequate statistics to support their claims. Furthermore, author of Measure Q tries to validate it by mentioning privacy rights,

For instance, when we cross a road, our sense perception tell us when the traffic light changes the color and what color it turns into, what we base on to decide if we should stop or cross the road are our logic and reason. This idea raises a knowledge question; to what extent does sense perception limit the acquisition of knowledge. The quote above suggests that sense perception is a private and incommunicable way of knowing. In terms of the limitation of sense perception, the inability to communicate and privacy form the obstacle on the way of acquiring our knowledge. This concept narrows the knowledge question down into; how does the privacy limit the acquisition of knowledge.
