Bill Myers listened in great detail to the complaints that the staff members shared and then went on to explain to them the reasons for the practices. The staff verbalized some very legitimate complaints which only led to counter rebuttals by Mr. Myers. Mr. Myers explained the reasons for the practices and should have in fact attempted to further investigate the matter and informed the staff that he would see what kind of changes could be made in the future. Bill Myers seems to be an authoritative leader, he provides expectations very clearly on what needs to be done and how. Authoritarian leaders lack in creativity, as the leader makes decisions independently with little or no inputs from employees.
Meaning, if someone excels in mathematics, does not mean that person is capable of painting or creating art (Ghraibeh, 2012). Gardner’s theory was unique, he looked the individual person and their intelligence based on one specific person. Realizing that people are intelligent each in their own way, Gardner’s theory was based on the question of “how are you smart?” compared to the basic question of “how smart are you?” Gardner’s research made him realize that there were many different types of intelligence. Gardner found that the list consisted of eight different yet separate intelligences, that Gardner studied and made a list of eight individual intelligences. The eight distinctive intelligences consist of; linguistic, musical, naturalist, logical-mathematical, bodily-kinesthetic, spatial, interpersonal and intrapersonal (Kowalski, R. and Westen,D., 2011).
3a) I want to be a better communicator like my boyfriend. Whenever we are having a conversation he always pays full attention to what I am saying and he makes direct eye contact and repeats what I said from time to time to let me know that he is listening. 4. What context or setting is required for you to achieve your goal? For example, "I will talk with my friends in private, distraction-free settings."
And about my uni course, which he was fairly interested in, judging by his body language, asked why I chose it and so forth. I noticed he was pretty much always looking at my eyes unless I used my hands to describe things, which I personally like. He let me talk for a while before asking me why I decided to come in for a session. I told him I felt a kind of need to succeed or achieve that in some ways I feel isn't really my own, because while I have this need, I'm not really motivated to do all the work necessary. He explored why that would be, I told him how I feel I should make up for what I consider my father's failure, despite his every advantage.
This resulted in the client accepting the outcome and apologizing for his behaviour. The primary difficulty I experienced was dealing with a customer who was both irate and verbally abusive. To overcome this quickly I analyzed and evaluated the situation, by assessing all the risks and then I communicated with the customer with integrity and respect, ensuring I remained calm and professional. 1.2 Describe when you have encouraged a person to view an issue more positively. At college, whilst studying I was a group leader for a team project with a deadline to meet.
Within the classroom, lies the emotion that is indirectly portrayed because he, the author, caused his students to feel that certain way by the words that were spoken. “What we don’t have, in other words, are thinkers. People who can think for themselves…” The phrase is one of the examples of how one could think that it was a possibility that he made someone confused or upset since he has a class full of top students. Not only does he make his audience feel negatively about themselves, but he cleverly opens his discussion up making them feel good such as saying, “My students, like you, were energetic, accomplished, smart, and often ferociously ambitious” as if he were preparing them for what is next for him to say. One thing he did not do was leave them on a sore

Please remember, “Respect is not imposed, but earned.” I once experienced this: while I was having my report about something he assigned me to discuss, what he did was chat with my colleagues. I was thinking, “Hey! How are you going to give me those grades if all you do is blab?” I consider his actions as a rude one, thinking he is our mentor. He wants us to do our report even if he is not around. How is he going to give us those grades we need to earn if he was unable to hear, and listen to what the reports of my colleagues were about?
My supervisions are taken on shift, my manager will watch how I work, how I integrate with the team of staff and with the clients in the care home and put forward any ideas on what I could do differently but also explain what I am doing well. It will also involve making sure that I fill in all the necessary paperwork such as care plans and accident forms and follow the appropriate policies. They are not formal and it feels easy during these times to ask for advise and to be supported when learning new things within the care home. The appraisals are more formal, myself and the manager will sit down and discuss everything about the job, anything from day to day tasks to staff grievances. The positive of this is that if there is anything I am unsure of I can speak in confidence and not feel embarrassed that I do not know how to do something in front of the care home clients and/or their families.
According to Miles “Positive relationship communication focuses on supervisors seeking suggestions from subordinates, being interested in them as people, relating with them in a casual manner, and allowing them to contribute input on important decisions.” (Miles, Patrick & King, 1996, p. ) In order to apply this philosophy in real life, I determined how employees in my organization perceive supervisor communication. In addition, I examined employee performance, trust and morale during times when there is a negative perception of communication with supervisors. Negative employee perceptions of supervisor communication are important in determining employee trust and morale as well. The decisions made in this study use the process model to explore how employee’s
