Explain their own philosophical approach to counselling Where I am in my training I feel that I have a good understanding of the person centred approach to counselling. At the moment I don’t feel I have a deep enough knowledge of the other theories to relate to them. Person centred approach appeals to me for a number of reasons; firstly I believe that each person has within them the ability to become the best possible version of them. I feel that this is an important part of the theory. “The actualising tendency refers to the tendency in all forms of organic life towards more complex organisation, the fulfilment of potential, and in human beings, the actualisation of the whole person including the persons self” (Merry 2002).

Remember however, these are reflection papers. So I want to hear your personal reflections on the material.
These refer to a person’s need to develop and improve their understanding about the world around them. Self-Actualization. This is a person’s need to reach their full potential and become everything they want to be in life. This is the highest level of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. These needs are put into a hierarchy of needs pyramid this is because they are shown what needs are most important and are based in a certain order from top priority to least priority this is what a hierarchy of needs pyramid looks like here you will see what is priority and what is least priority in the Hierarchy of needs.
Learning Theories PSY 331: Psychology of Learning Learning can be considered as the “process leading to relatively permanent behavioral change or potential behavioral change. As one learns, perception of environment is altered by interpretation of stimulus and the interaction or behavior” (Lieberman, 2012). Many Behaviorists believed the study of behavior had to be done in an observable manner with no thought of internal mind states. These behaviorists believed there was no way to study behaviors in regards to the internal mind states due to cognition, emotion and mood was useless and could not be tested or verified to provide an explanation of the behavior (Lieberman, 2012). Therefore, this paper will view the three
Topics will be selected by the student and agreed upon by the instructor. The topic must correlate to the subject material being taught. Since this class is comparative in nature, I expect the research paper to compare and contrast some aspect of the subject material. An example of a topic would be a comparison of the United States and Japan in regards to policing, corrections and the courts. I expect the student to use some research beyond what I have provided for the class.
These individuals are proficient in their old methods and felt that there is no need to change. Additionally, they did not have the required KSAs to learn the new system and the learning environment did not permit learning to occur resulting in resistance. In this case, peer support was the major cause of this resistance. The case mentions that the managers excluded Rick from informal discussion groups; this indicates that he was not accepted by most people. According to Blanchard & Thacker (2007), the effect of group dynamics can influence individual group members’ behavior and motivation.
Gibbs (1998) reflective cycle will be utilized as it illustrates a clear structure for the process of reflection which includes six main stages; description of the event, feelings, evaluation, description (analysis to make sense of the experience) conclusion and action plan (Jasper, 2003) respectively. Baird and Winter (2005) give some reasons on why reflection is require in reflective practice. They state that reflection is to generate the practiced knowledge, assist an ability to adapt new situations, develop self-esteem and satisfaction as well as to value, develop and professionalizing practice. Description of event: As part of our second assignment, our class (two people in each group) was assigned to conduct a role play on interview where my friend Mary held the role as interviewer and myself as an interviewee. The initial planning of the content and rehearsal was done together as a team.
It is disgusting reading that kids do not have any moral conscious. If you are encouraging deviant behavior, that spawned off of moral values that you know of. Society will never accept the behavior or immoral behavior. The deviant behavior will be looked down on, due to the fact that your actions should be for the greatest good for the greatest number of people. When you are just acting on personal wants, and gains, the result is selfishness.
Abraham Maslow developed a model known as The Hierarchy of Needs (1) as a theory for understanding human motivation and personal development. The whole basis behind Maslow’s model is that we are all motivated by needs, there are different levels to these needs and at each level the need needs to be addressed and satisfied to achieve fulfilment. ‘All the evidence that we have indicates that it is reasonable to assume in practically every
In actual fact, methods always presuppose the existence of goals and objectives, while goals and objectives presuppose the existence of a philosophy. The discovery of the method being utilized can lean one to discern the goals and objectives in focus. The real price is gaining a hold of and understanding the substance of the philosophy that informs the operations. Poor methods betray the application of faulty logics and reasoning in deciding on the goals, and in the development of the philosophy. This may be tested by changing the philosophy.
