Today I _____here on behalf for the defense, stand before the court to ask you to stay with the decision and majority opinion of Anthony Kennedy v. Ruth Bader Ginsburg in the case Gonzales v. Carhart, U.S. Supreme Court (April 18.2007). In an age where women are fully capable of being on a birth control or controlling the ability to get pregnant it is Constitutional to ban “partial-birth” Abortions for the health of the women and the fact it is not something to be taken lightly. It is done by dilating the women and giving her medicine to start labor, Once labor has started the baby is delivered and the doctor suctions the brains out and the baby’s skull collapse. There are many reasons why abortions are a negative thing. One is that it ends a life of a living thing. Two it is extremely bad on a women’s body and has many things that could go wrong or long term effects. It has been found that there are many emotional aspects of an abortion that can psychologically affect the wellbeing of the women. These emotions can include guilty feelings, anxiety, depression, loss, anger, and even suicide. There are many things that could ultimately go wrong with an abortion. Short term you can have clotting, cramping, hemorrhage (sudden, severe bleeding), incomplete abortion, perforated uterus, infection, bladder of bowel injury, cervical laceration, death. Long term effects chronic infection, ectopic (tubal) pregnancy, higher risk of future miscarriage or premature birth, increased risk of future birth defects, future labor complications, hysterectomy, sterility (unable to conceive), cervical cancer, breast cancer, hepatitis, mental and psychological
