Privat vs. Public Schools

Parents have to make a tough decision when choosing where to send their child for school: public school or private school. Although both can provide a good qualified education to their child, there are many differences between private schooling and public schooling. These differences can either hinder or improve a child’s way of learning and developing. If their child finds their self-able to focus in a smaller class size with a rigorous work load that involves a challenging curriculum than private schooling would be the better choice. If their child finds that they like being around all their friends, in a bigger class size, and a normal workload and curriculum then public schooling may be more helpful. Private schools have many positives that make you want to send your child here. Let’s first define what it is. A private school does not receive government funding; because they do not receive that money they are exempt from most of the state’s regulations that public schools have to follow regarding personnel and curriculum. A uniform can be included as a part of the private school education, but not always included. These schools also generally teach a more precise value system and tend to have small class sizes, better facilities, and a more challenging curriculum. There is a common speculation that private schools offer a leverage over other types of schools, both environmentally and in academic achievement. There are a lot of benefits for your child at a private school. Here are a few examples: they tend to be smaller schools and therefore they have smaller class sizes, generally they have a safer school environment with fewer drugs and less violence, there is a competitive student selection process which helps build an intelligent and motivated student body, they routinely outperform public schools academically, they tend to have excellent teachers and a
