Batman, though a character, is a very realistic figure who has problems like anyone, bills, laundry even speeding tickets. Bruce Wayne faced huge issues early in his life when his parents died, and they continue every night he fights evil. We relate to Batman because we have all face challenges that we somehow overcome. Though our own problems may not be as big, we are all like the Dark Knight in some way. He was a normal man who faces problems and conquers them, while becoming an awesome hero.
Okwonko gets through his tough life without a father figure there to help him become a man he becomes successful. Okwonko, because of his hard life, has learned to be mentally and physically stronger than most men in his tribe, “bringing honor to his village” (Achebe 1). Although Okwonko is a superior character his tragic flaw and his manliness brings about his own demolishment. When Okwonko was eighteen years of age, “he had achieved fame as the greatest wrestler in all of the land” (Achebe 27). Okwonko achieved his fame when he threw off Amalinze the Cat, the greatest wrestler who for seven years was unbeaten, from Umuofia to Mbaino.
In all fictional stories about superman he is considered a superhero because he can fly, he is extraordinarily strong, and he the only thing that can stop him is kryptonite. Reyes seems to be working as hard and fast as he is physically able, to send home such a large amount of money back home each week. He cannot
Doc is a very brilliant and compassionate man. Though his being the only highly intelligent resident in Cannery Row is what sets him apart from others. Every single person respects and idolizes Doc, but at the same time, no one can fully comprehend him or give Doc complete company. Even while Hazel accompanies Doc on a trip to the tide pools, Doc is very much shown as being out casted from Hazel and everybody else. In response to Hazel’s question about stink beetles, Doc answers, “The remarkable thing…isn’t that they put their tails up in the air- the really incredible thing is that we find it remarkable” (38).
Imagination Leads to Success Imagination is the ability to form new images and sensation that are not perceived through senses such as sight, and hearing. Imagination helps make knowledge applicable in solving problems, allows to get the hopes up, and create future. In the story The Catbird Sit by James Thurber, Mr. Martin uses imagination to achieve desired outcome without suspicion of others. Mr. Martin is working at a firm called F & S for twenty-two years. He is known to be a very concentrated and efficient worker, who never smokes nor drinks.
This makes Batman more realistic because Superman has supernatural powers that are un-relatable to humans. However, Batman’s human like character is not the only thing that sets him apart from Superman. Since Batman is a human he has no supernatural powers. Unlike Superman, Batman cannot fly, he doesn’t have super strength, but he still has the exact same character role that Superman does which is fighting the villains and the saving the cities from crime. He is able to do this because he physically trains
The Ethical Dilemma of Oscar Pistorius “You can succeed at anything if you put your mind to it.” This statement seems to be one that we hear endlessly as we grow older. Sometimes this is proven true, as could be perceived from the case of Oscar Pistorius. Oscar is an Olympic sprinter, with one big difference from his competition-both of his legs are non-existent below the knee. Instead of legs, he uses a folded metal spring mechanism that acts in the same way as a human calf and foot. Pistorius was born with a congenital disease that caused him to have both of his legs amputated just below his knees when he was less than a year old.
There is many men and creatures in the lovely tale of the Golden Compass, however, there is only two in which Lyra is fascinated with. In the way that one is her real father of whom she never knew was, and there is the passoinate father to her, who is loving and caring towards her. These are examples of contrast between the two of Lyra's father figures. The likenesses between them are in different ways intriguing........... Where Lord Asriel is strong in the way that he is a role with lots of power and is highly respected, Iorek is physically strong, and has capability to do many things a only a very high fitness level could achieve , he is also strong inside,in the way that he has the strength to go on through tough situations, for example, when he lost Lyra when she fell out of and give it all in battles; he is mentally strong. Lord Asriel may be strong, and Iorek may be too,but none can compare to how brave and strong Lyra was in this heartwarming tale.
Beowulf was described as having the power of “thirty men” in just one of his arms. Using his supernatural force Beowulf fought off sea monsters, Grendel’s mother as well as the fire breathing dragon. Even throughout all he encountered, Beowulf remained humble and kind. A hero can be ordinary people in our everyday lives, a fictional super hero, and they’re ultimately a person that has impacted the world. There are Hero’s in our everyday life and we may not even recognize it.
The kite flap, or Foucher’s kite flap, was chosen for the showdown between man and machine because it is “rapid, reliable and easy to perform”…if you are a surgeon or a robot. One operation was performed by a surgeon and the other was performed by a robot named da Vinci Si robot. The robotic surgery lasted 30 minutes and the conventional surgery lasted 19 minutes. The robot had difficulty holding the demographic pen in its soulless pinch-like claw. It also could not separate the edges without additional help.
