It should stay the way the author intended it to be. Racist language in old literature is very uncomfortable for many people to read. It can be offensive to African Americans. Many books are banned from schools just because of the racist language. We just need to understand that these books were written a long time ago and that was the language they used back then.
If everyone complained and no one picked up the trash, the situation would stay the same (at best). But most likely it would worsen—the trash is not going to pick itself up, and will continue to pile up. Instead of complaining, we can do something by first realizing that we have a choice. You’re not responsible for the entire world’s trash and problems. None of us is.
Malcolm X vs. Dr. King “The Ballot or the Bullet” Malcolm X rejects the actions of the white without any attempts to appeal to. Rather than trying to integrate the black community into the white, he focuses on the complete separation of them he doesn't want the blacks to integrate into the white hotels he wants blacks to own the hotels. He believed that the black population had to break the cultural, economic, and political dependency. Malcolm X attacks the tendency of African-Americans to identify with White America and insists they identify instead with Africans, their ancestors. Malcolm X begins breaking down the bridge between Black and White America at the beginning of the speech, phrasing his sentences in such a way as to convince his audience of the fact that your place of residence does not determine who you are, and therefore blacks shouldn't identify with White America.
Moral vs Influence: Huck's journey “How can a society that debases human lives on a mass scale consider itself civilized?” This comes from an article, Twain in 85 by Shelly Fishkin, that articulated the irony of the morals of civil society as a whole. It directly criticizes racism which was not “allowed” because slavery was considered justifiable. Mark Twain, originally named Samuel Clemens, was one of the few who questioned the morals and ideas of society because he believed that they weren't right. He used Adventures of Huckleberry Finn to characterize the irony he saw in societies clashing standards that decided slavery as right but thought that every human had inalienable rights such liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Huck's moral and the development of that moral is advanced through Jim's search for freedom where it can be seen him growing as a person by accepting Jim, a slave, and the stages of his development: absence of morality and clashes of societies standards with his own.
While Bartholet and Noble focus on the idea that race shouldn’t be a deciding factor, Twila Perry takes a different position by claiming that it should be one of the main factors in adoption. In her article “Take race out of the equation” (2014), Elizabeth Bartholet expresses that race should not be a factor to take into account. Bartholet explains that “Racial matching failed to meet the narrow affirmative action exception to that tradition [of not discriminating according to race]: It hurt rather than helped black children, by locking them
In the Essay: "Rap Music and the Demonization of Young Black Males,” Rose defines demonization as not having any morals, or cares in the world. On the subject of rap music, I think that Rap music does in fact make young black males look bad. The reason for this is because most raps demoralize women, and talk about money and drugs. In addition, If not one topic is brought up in a rap song, when the other is. I think that we could stop this type of demoralization by putting a law out saying you can only have so many explicit tracks on an album, and then the rapper will not get as much publicity for what they have been rapping about.
Therefore, material on the Web deemed inappropriate should not be censored. A lot of the material that is deemed inappropriate can be easily viewed on the Web. Because of this, someone may enter a website not knowing what is included in that site, and may be “scarred for life.” This is not true. A person is not forced to view any material on the Web and can ignore anything they consider inappropriate. It’s the person who posted the content that should worry about who will view it and the consequences of someone being offended by it.
It seems clear that if one individual harms another, through whatever means, it makes it more difficult for the harmed individual to carry out parts of their “life-plan”. According to Mill, this is where intervention should occur. This is not a valid way of exercising your autonomy because you are putting the autonomy of other individuals at risk. This is what constitutes harm. However, the state or any other individual has no grounds to intervene if you’re not seen to harm others.
Consider this example: “I believe that computers should be banned due to the risk they pose to all mankind in the potential for an electronic anti-human revolt.” This sentence is phrased as a personal opinion rather than an authoritative statement. Most readers, however, expect a paper to present an authoritative and factually supported thesis, not a mere opinion. In general, this use of I should be avoided. Second-Person Pronouns - You There is nothing inherently wrong with addressing the reader as you in a formal paper. However, for most readers, you carries a tremendous sense of informality, and in a sentence that gives advice or demands action, it may seem outright aggressive.
I don’t think this was ethical. I don’t think information discussed in a board should be discussed or brought to the media unless they are doing something illegal. Without honesty and trust these board members will also have these issues. I think policies and consequences should handle situations like this. Someone should not be able to show dishonesty, lack of respect or unethical decisions and still be a part of that
