Persuasive Speech Outline COMS 101 Section D27 May 8, 2015 Organization: Problem-Solution Audience analysis: The audience is all women of college age and older. In this group of women one is married with all teenage girls and the other two are single. This speech will meet their needs by reminding them why it is biblically correct to not have sex until after marriage. As for the women with three teen-age girls, this will help be able to talk to her daughters about this important matter. Topic: The problem I aim to address is why pre-marital sex is wrong. Rhetorical Purpose: To inform my audience about pre-marital sex, and to persuade them that they, themselves, should work take what God says about pre-marital sex seriously and save themselves for marriage in response to this information. Redemptive Purpose: The problem of pre-martial sex is that it prevents people from experiencing life as God, according to Scripture, means it to be experienced. In 1 Cor. 6:13 it says “Now the body is not for fornication.” God does not want us to have sexual intercourse with someone that is not our husband or wife. The solution I propose is to understand how God views the problem, and through His strength, be able to over come the temptation. I. Attention-getter “Wait until marriage.” “Don’t have sex before marriage.” As Christians who grew up in church, this is something has been drilled into us at every teen activity. II. Motive for Listening Saving yourself for marriage is very important. God has set down a number of rules we are to go by in the Bible. All that we do will be dealt with on the day of Judgment (Romans 2:16). III. Credibility Statement As a single Christian girl, I personally understand how easy it is to get swept away in todays generation of thinking that sex before marriage isn’t a big deal.
