The government has decided that addiction to these types of harmless drugs is okay, and then provides us with safe ways to access and ingest them. Could it be that the moment you turn to an illegal drug, you forfeit any chance of safety that the government could offer to you? Illegal drug use surrounds us every day, in fact, substance abuse is not a problem that will go away by banishing users to the streets; such attitudes only exacerbate this ever so common, serious issue. Critics argue that safe injection sites condone a criminal act, whereas, others argue that it’s better to focus on enabling addicts to practice the behavior more safely. While we must appreciate the moral perspectives some attempt to embody, good public policy must be measured by its effectiveness and ability to actually achieve the goals it is designed to respond to.
Motorcyclists are at a higher risk for injury due to the absence of safety features. Universal helmet laws will have the greatest impact for the increased use of helmets and decrease in motorcycle crash injuries and death. The audience for this paper would be motorcyclists, anyone interested in health care costs, and motorists interested in road safety. Motorcyclists safety enthusiasts understand the risks and advocate the use of helmets for all riders. Having the support from motorcyclists would not only encourage helmet use, but also encourage the need for universal helmet laws.
Describe briefly our society's underlying motivations for the establishment of governmentalregulation and the control of drugs and drug use, differentiating between regulating drug use andtaking a laissez-faire approach. 2a. Some of the underlying motivations for establishing government regulations were that the toxicity of drugs became a concern. The sellers of certain drugs were considered to be endangering the health of the public. There were no regulations that were in place that made the sellers tell how much and what particular ingredients were in the drugs that were being sold.
Topic: The increase of gun control legislation decreases civilian safety. Guns are not for everyone. When dealing with guns, it is key to maintain the control on this lethal weapon. Improper use can lead to great consequences but proper gun control can reduce violence and the threat of crime within neighborhoods. Gun control is most worldwide debated topics today.
This could have a huge affect on the current war on drugs. The war on drugs will continue because apparently the big drug dealer can not be caught. Drugs are going to continue in the states simply because some people do not have jobs and each of these individuals sells drugs to try and make money. If the war on drugs does not be controlled then a lot of things could happen and make the world go down tremendously. Today in our society if drugs are not off the street our younger generations will began to sell it and use it too.
Michael J Mullins America’s War on Drugs The United States of America has been fighting a war that has no end in sight. For the most part this war is directed at America’s own citizens. Some people argue that this war on drugs violates an individual’s civil rights. There are others that argue this war is a waste of time and money, and that in a time when the United States debt is over 17 trillion dollars and growing we need to find a cheaper and better way to fight America’s war on drugs. Drug prohibition, A.K.A.
Critical Analysis on “The Missing Piece to the Gang-Violence Debate.” Dan Gardner’s publish, “The Missing Piece to the Gang-Violence Debate”, is strongly controversial in his position against increasing enforcement of drug laws, and boosting penalties for violators. He believes that you should actually limit enforcement and hardship of sentencing when it comes to drugs. Was his argument persuasive enough in the essay to actually influence his wishes into society? Personally, I don’t think so. Gardner’s ideas are too drastic and I believe he didn’t have enough support in his argument that his plans would actually decrease the murders in gang violence.
Though it was made illegal to sell prescription drugs through the Ryan Haight act, which explicitly prohibit the on-line sale of these drugs without at least one in person doctor’s office visit, the problem is still rampant. It is extremely difficult to crack down on the online pharmacies because many are based/located overseas where the United States have no jurisdiction. This is clearly unethical to sell a drug to a patient without a prescription, so why do these e-Pharma companies do it. It is most definitely an outcome based approach on ethics. There is a lot of money to be made in the online prescription industry.
The main reason people use meth is because it forces endorphins which cause feelings of happiness to be overloaded. Eventually the feeling needs more endorphins and that is when the addiction really begins; because pleasure is no longer the reason for using, It is now needed for normal function. People assume that addicts will steal from them or possibly cause them harm. There is no truth to this. The fact that thieves or murderers are not caused by meth.
Illegal Immigration The U.S for awhile has had a problem with illegal immigration and it is still on going today. My opinion on illegal immigration whether it can be stopped or not is that there is no possible way it can. It seems that laws are meant to be broken; illegal immigration cannot be stopped. An example such as this: today in the U.S there are many illegal drugs, yet people still use them; they are breaking the law, just like illegal drugs we cannot stop illegal immigration. Laws are broken every day, how can we possibly stop this one from being broken.
