What if that was one of your family member, wouldn’t you want them to be able to protect themselves? I would think so. Many people don’t think of gun violence this way but, it is very true. “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people.” It’s the person behind the gun that causes the death and deviation known with gun violence. So gun control is not the answer to the problem.
Less people will have an access to a gun causing fewer deaths to happen by gun violence conflicts. Even sale of guns illegally will go down because the dealer won’t have access to the guns either. If a law like this is passed the deaths caused by gun violence could decrease. There
Grifin M. Price Kendra Gallos English III H 3/21/18 Gun Control Will Not Solve Anything Guns are given a bad reputation because of the terrors that can be committed by people who want to cause harm. Those who are gun control advocates wish to ban certain weapons without basis, ban certain weapon attachments, and restrict the rights of the second amendment. Gun control supporters base their opinion on statistics about gun violence that use a portion of data that is not about gun violence just to boost the value of the number. Supporters of gun control dismiss the saying “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun,” because they are misinformed about the number of defensive gun uses (DGU) which far outnumbers the
Gun casualties and incidents throughout the country have woken the public up from its ignorance and shown them the danger guns can pose to society (Martinez, 2013). While some people want a complete blanket ban on the ownership of guns, others wants an easier access to guns so that every person may look after their own security. Part of what makes the term gun control a very controversial topic is that it’s used in a ambiguous way that does not explain the details of the issue and the demands, apart from literally controlling guns. The two prominent sides of the debate are the groups who ask for liberal gun laws that make it easier for a person to procure guns and conversely, there are groups who want to repeal the second amendment. I personally am a strong believer that an “ideal society” should have no guns; nevertheless crime is a big problem to the citizens of our society and guns are necessary.
Just because more gun control laws will be put in place does not mean guns will be completely banned. With gun control the more powerful and larger guns could be banned. For example, high capacity magazines could be banned because mass shootings usually take place with semi-automatic guns. By banning large magazines, less people would be able to be injured in the event of a mass shooting. People believe by putting gun control into action it would put people in harms way.
Just a few of the laws that Dianne is proposing is: Ban on certain more dangerous firearms, ban on importation of assault weapons and large capacity magazines, and no magazines more than ten rounds. this laws are intended to stop unnecessary use of firearms. although these laws may be able to stop the majority of criminals from getting weapons, its impossible to rid all weapons from the hands of criminals. These laws may represent the wrong balance, and could hurt America rather than helping it. Other
Some people think that if we just get rid of guns, violence will lower dramatically. IV. But, criminals would continue finding ways to illegally acquire guns while robbing and attacking law-abiding
Gun control has been a debated issue for years. The majority of citizens believe that if gun control is strictly enforced it would rapidly reduce the crime levels. Many innocent citizens feel they have the right to bear arms for self-defense, or even for the pleasure of hunting. To enforce gun control throughout the nation means violating a person’s Constitutional Rights. Some people feel that the issue of gun control will limit crime and the fact that guns are necessary for self-defense against crime, and that enforcing gun control is a violation against a citizen’s second amendment right to bear arms.
However this right has been abused when guns fall in the hands of senseless murders, robbers, mentally unstable individuals, etc. which generates issues of the debate about gun control in recent years. Republicans and Democrats both stand behind our right protected by the Second Amendment nevertheless we need control over the gun laws. Republicans fully stands behind citizens right to guns, just the same as democrats they believe in regulation to keep down violence levels but philosophy they go against anything that inconveniences constitutional right of gun owners. Democrats in no way wish to undermine the right to the second amendment but do wish to establish strong laws to who can and cannot bear a gun for example restricting guns to be issued in the hands of previous criminals, stalkers, person going under mental services, background checks for gun sales, etc.
Gun Control There are Gun laws in the United States that regulate the sale, possession, and use of firearms and ammunition. These laws vary by state and are independent of federal firearms laws. There are just as many arguments for gun control as there are against gun control. In an ideal world where gun control was working, only people who will use guns for good will be allowed to possess and carry guns. However, the reality is that criminals will find a way to break gun laws and get guns illegally.
