[pic] MILESTONE 3 – MODELING SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Activity 1 – Use-Case Glossary T he following use cases and their descriptions and actors can be determined from the interview. Some students may identify other use cases based on standard maintenance functions. These are not incorrect, but have been left out of the glossary for the sake of simplicity. We have chosen to focus only on the use cases that will be most used. A few notes on the use cases included in the glossary: • An abstract use case called Login was added because all other use cases require a login.
Although there is already an abundance of psychological research on reading and memory, the majority of this research has been on people’s reading deficits or their depths of information processing, yet not so much on the reading material that’s presented. For example, past researchers found that levels of recall accuracy vary between different task formats, and that they are dependent on the orienting task for processing (Towse, Cowan, Hitch & Horton, 2009). Thus we can say that recall accuracy could be situational and variable depending on the task presented. As a part of a Cognitive Psychology class, we were interested in seeing if there was a distinction in reading performances based on the manipulation of the specific reading task that we presented. The purpose of this study
Sometimes I try to switch it up to reading and watching, but I always seem to fail at that. So now I go hands on as often as possible and work with physical objects or any activity. A good example of learning through this style is in order for me to learn a new a new item or any new equipment that I have to learn, I pretty much play around with the item until I know that I am ok with it or I have full knowledge of how it works or how to work it. I might apply my own learning style to study through this course and the program. I think it will be better for me so that I won’t get confused by switching to a different learning style.
To help me my learning process in class's like that i need to recreate the lectured material using my own visual tools and adapt my teacher's preferred teaching methods to my preferred learning styles. As a visual/physical learner, its is challenging for me when verbal or aural teaching techniques are used. I only consume bits of what i read or hear, i always have to look away from the speaker, think process all the words, and come up with what they represent visually. By learning that there are different learning styles and the style i predominately follow, I now know how to apply some simple techniques that will aid in my learning in my many class's that
Study Session #3 Learning Reports __________________________________ What is the most valuable concept learned in this study session: For me it had to be the need for me to allow more freedom to my students. I often try to create an environment full of fun, companionship with friends and have achievement but freedom is sometimes lacking thus quality is lacking. Why do you feel it is most valuable to you? I have been trained and have developed habits of wanting students to look to me for directives (i.e. going to the bathroom, sharpening a pencil, getting out of their seats, etc.).
There are many different learning styles and why does everyone have their own way of learning even when it's the same thing the other person is learning. Why do we have our own way of learning and how did we get that learning style. How do people get their own way to learn the same thing another person is trying to learn. Do peoples brain think differently or is it just the method we learn from our educators! The reason I choose to continue my education is because I felt it was time for me the receive an education so that I could look back and tell myself I did something worthwhile!
In this essay you will see my findings on my particular learning style, personality type, and how I can now benefit by knowing this and how to expand my knowledge in implementing other way of learning. “Overall, learning is a blend of various styles.” (Pheifer, 2009). I discovered that my style of learning is that I am a visual learner! This came as a surprise to me since I always thought of myself as a hands on learner. Although in reflecting on this for a bit I realize that I do visualize and retain more information by reading and studying material, not just the hands on approach.
Through the aid of some online web sites and self-refection, I have set out to answer the question, what is my personal learning style? When discussing different types of learning styles most people think of VARK model, without knowing it, where there are generally three categories in which an individual might fall into; visual, auditory, and kinesthetic/tactile. Other models us a wider spread of categories of learning styles than just the typical three. Having more categories allow you to further specify which learning environment and teaching modes might be most advantageous to your personal learning. Majority of people will fall into more than one category, but may have a stronger inclination in one category over another.
Throughout the studies of I have read I have learned a lot about the different styles. In my reading from The Center of New Discoveries in learning (2012) I discovered that I am more of a Visual learner. It is where you prefer to think in pictures or movies. You would rather want to create or recall images when you read. Also from Penn State (2010) it stated that I was more of a Visual leaner.
The definition of “Learn” is to gain or acquire knowledge or skill in something by study experience, or being taught. Learning is often compared to memorizing, but they are totally different. Learning is much more complex than some may think. When I first think of learning my mind goes to school because the way society is you would think that that would be the place where you learn the most. As I sit and think about it I recall learning more by experience.
