When I first started my role as care assistant, I received an induction training course, which familiarised myself with the role. Part of my induction was to read and understand the company's policy and procedures, which I am then responsible to follow . My role involves me, participating in the day to day running of a residential home and to provide advice and information to the people I support. Working as part of a team, and maintaining effective communication is also required in my role. Ensuring physical and emotional needs of residents are met and to promote the health and safety of those people I support, are also important in my care worker role.
Supervisions are regular, between myself and my manager. They are designed to help improve the way I work, they offer practical and guidance and support in areas that I need to improve. After supervisions are the appraisals. They evaluate what was covered in the supervisions to make sure that improvement is occurring and to set new goals. My supervisions are taken on shift, my manager will watch how I work, how I integrate with the team of staff and with the clients in the care home and put forward any ideas on what I could do differently but also explain what I am doing well.
Once I‘ve identified these I look at the type of training opportunity which is appropriate and relevant to my role, and formulate a plan to how this will be achieved. In my case I want to become a registered manager, so in preparation I have taken part in formal training including: • Advanced medication • Professional supervision Also doing this, Health and social care diploma level 5, whilst working through this it is helping to identify areas I need more training in which I plan to arrange training for myself i.e. Mental Capacity Act. Alongside formal training I also ensure I get informal training, for example: • Sitting in on resident Reviews with my manager, then moved on to doing them on my own with prior advice from my manager. • Getting help and advice for manager on computer skills as this is something I need to improve on.
Using reflective Practice you will be able to contribute to your service provision by being able to reflect .process, evaluate and achieve progress through your better understanding of client group/user. Also thinking about your personal reflection what have you done well, what can you improve on, what have I learned from this? How standards can be used to help social care workers reflect on their practice? Using company policies familiarize yourself with your companies working standards. What is your work standards, what does your social care employee expect of you and what is it aim for for the service provision?

1.1 Describe the duties and responsibilities of own role I work with clients with physical disabilities, within a supported home setting. My current job role is as a ‘support assistant’. I am responsible for providing support to the service user’s, which includes; Personal care, assisting with meal preparation, organising service users finances, assisting with meal planning, and maintaining records for service delivered. I receive regular supervision with my line manager, where I can discuss any problems, and get support. I can also request training, and my manager can highlight areas where he thinks I would benefit from further training in.
I have acquired the personal requirements that a person must have before stepping into this type of job. I am working on furthering my education as we speak, to help make this a better transition. As an administrative assistant, I have acquired the personal requirements that I need to be an office manager. Being a good organizer has helped me make sure that my office is running smoothly. I have to work around a lot of people, so that means I have to be friendly and show fellow employees that I care about them.
effective communication in health and social care basically means to communicate successfully and getting your message across to other people and making sure they understand. Another way to put this is by learning about the argyle communication cycle, The argyle communication cycle has six steps: 1.Idea occurs (so you might want to talk to a resident about their care plan). 2.The message is coded (which basically means how you are going to send the message across, so if a resident is of certain age you need to think about the speed, Tone and pitch and how you speak to them you also should think about how you are going to deliver it). 3.Message sent. 4.Message is received (the resident knows that you are communicating with them and receives the message).
More importantly, the organization should provide training sessions to employees to enhance their comprehension of the ethical code and values within the entity. Reflection of the ethical code is represented by communication from executives and managers and by interaction with employees, patient/family members and other healthcare professionals. Do we just post it on the door? How does an organization reflect ethical standards? Not only do you post the code of ethics on the door but also it is represented by actions and words.
