Familial pride is defined as being pride in how a family is portrayed to the public or how the individual members of a family represent the family. For the most part, I believe that every family has some degree of familial pride, although the amount may vary. After all, how many of us have been lectured on bad grades, threatened with expulsion from the home should we dare to conceive a child during our teenage years, or even something so minute as to have to rush to clean the house before guests arrive to create a good impression? While familial pride can be helpful, too much of it can be harmful to family members. Usually, familial pride starts off, and stays, a healthy, driving force.
I will be respected if I respect my social manner to my cultural elders. 2. Pick two invisible aspects of my culture and explain the importance of them to you. Gender role- the men are always the head of the house, or leader of their family in my culture. It will not matter if the wife is earning much money from work compare to the husband but men should always be in charge of their family.
They practice polygamy, where it is the norm for the men in the culture to have more than one wife. In Chocolat, the family structure is exactly the same as we perceive it in modern society. It is the norm for a man is only allowed to have one wife. There are many more differences to these two cultures, but that’s for a later time. In the novel, Things Fall Apart, by Chinua Achebe, and the film,“Chocolat”, directed by Lasse Hallstrom, family relationships are one of the things that keep the story going.
Write about the parenting styles of Atticus Finch and Robert Ewell in “To Kill A Mockingbird” In the town of Maycomb, children are expected to live up to there parents expectations, if not, better. Either children’s parents raise them to be just like them as Atticus Finch does, or the pressure of community expectations that a person lives up, or down, to their family, referring to Robert Ewell. Atticus’s parenting style is quite unique in that he treats his children as adults, honestly answering any question they have. He uses all these instances as an opportunity to pass his values on to Scout and Jem, because he is delighted in helping people see a situation in a new light. Atticus uses this approach not only with his children, but with all of Maycomb, and yet, for all of his mature treatment of Jem and Scout, he patiently recognizes that they are children and that they will make childish mistakes and assumptions.
So with both President Obama and my mom if they didn’t do there part to provide and maintain a stable country and home they both would fall apart. Leadership skills are also a good quality to have. If the president and my mom didn’t no how to lead us followers it would be a catastrophe. My mom leads are home with a iron fist and whatever she says goes and we follow her in any way. For example, if my mom says for us to go clean are rooms and we don’t know how she would go show us and then we would know how to do it then.
In Iraqi families the man is the head of the household and the wife is the submissive member in public. But when the door closes and they are alone the roles almost reverse themselves, the wife is in charge of the home, she is responsible for everything that takes place in the home and the husband is submissive to her when in their home. Iraqi males are more sensitive than males in an only masculine culture. While when it comes to their children the Iraqi people definitely belong to a high power dimension culture. The children are not as free as the wife is when the doors to the home are closed and they are alone.
The parenting style used by Walters uncles, is far better for raising a child then the style used by his mother. To begin with, Walter has been banded by his self centered mother who only cares about herself, and not her only son Walter. Walter’s mother leaves to go off to Fort Worth College for court reporting while Walter is left with his great uncles. Both mothers and fathers contribute to their full extent and provide us with utmost facilities. The try to give their children with best clothes to wear , provide good foods to eat etc , so that their children get proper development.
The Practice of Polygamy be Taken More Seriously in the US In life the ideal situation of a family is to have one husband and one wife, living in one house sharing everything amongst their own family. Today, the example provided would be social ety’s norm. Most would agree that practicing traditional family roles has the highest sufficient effect on having a stable family life. One type of family begs to differ. This type of family is called polygamy.
Everyone in the town knew she was my sister, I knew so many people through my father and the Hob. It would be hard to believe that anyone there didn’t feel at least something for her. Everyone liked something about Prim; I know what they were really thinking though. I know because I think it every year; thank god, it’s not me, it’s not my name, I will live another year, well at least I won’t die from the games. Hunger is still a problem.
In contrast, my parents’ generation loves to spend time with their family. Furthermore, they want to take care of their family members. In addition, they are very close with all the members in their family, so the relationships between them and their family are very good. In my country, older people want to share their problems and their experiences with family members because they think no one is better than family members. Young people, however, who are my generation, do not have the good relationships with their family.
