Single mothers and fathers have a hard time raising one child let alone two or three but yet they keep on having child after child. Society’s views on a few things need to change to be able to get the foster care system under control because if families could take care of the kids they had then there would be no problems. I understand there are special circumstances but the number of children in the system is outrageous. I feel like what has led my client to be put into the foster care system is his or her own parents neglect. This could be neglect of just the child or neglect of substances or responsibilities whatever it is they didn’t step up to the plate like they should have when they had they kid and therefore the government did and
More and more parents are letting go of their stern parenting not even giving their kids a small "spank" on the bottom which is NOT child abuse. They are afraid to do that these days because of these psycho moms and dads who call the DCFS and the police if they see or hear of you spanking your child. Children test their boundaries. Back in the day our parents used to REALLY SPANK us if we did something wrong and I bet we never did that thing again. These days the kids get time outs and the parents try talking to them as if they were mini adults and can understand and grasp exactly the point you are trying to get across to them.
Parents use discipline to teach their children the difference between right and wrong. The type of discipline parents use is entirely up to them but, "ninety percent of parents say that they have used [spanking] as a mean of discipline on their child, and most parents say that it was used on them when they were youngsters" (James). Spanking is a form of discipline that has been used by many parents; but it is now becoming the method that is being frowned upon by most doctors and many parents. "The American Academy of Pediatricians say that spanking might actually do more harm than good"(Eisenhauer), meaning that the spanking will not correct the problems that the child has, but only make them worse. In some countries around the globe, such as Norway and Sweden, elected officials have made it totally illegal for parents to spank their child.

Divorce is a huge topic a lot of parents think about when they feel that there spouse is no longer compatible with them and also the fact that it’s not working out for reason only they will know. It may just be the fact that two people that were deeply in love just feel out of it because of no connection anymore. In the article “Just Whom Is This Divorce” Good” For? Written by Elizabeth Marquart talks about how divorce can cause children even from a good divorce go through it there selves when they get older, children also feel that they are to blame for their parents getting divorced and they lose all interest for other things, there is also a lot of controversy about which parent gets which day can just lead up to a huge custody battle for most.
Resistant Attachment Resistant attachment is the attachment pattern characterizing infants who remain close to the parent and fail to explore before separation, then are usually distressed when the parent leaves. When the parent returns the infant combines clinginess with angry, resistive behavior. This theory of resistant attachment really interested me because I have witnessed it plenty of times with my boyfriend’s nephew, Noah, and his sister-in-law, Elizavette. When first reading this chapter I thought they had a secure attachment but once I dug a little deeper and we discussed it in class I realized that it was not secure at all. Noah as an infant was very attached to his mother, Elizavette.
I believe that there is no right or wrong way to discipline a child, but there is a right and wrong way to behave. Some children do not need as much discipline as the next child. Hooks says love is the answer to teaching your children the right way. I disagree because love isn’t everything and everybody has a different interpretation of love some might believe keeping the child happy by buying him/her anything they want, or another might think beating their child to the point where they can’t be seen in public is a way of showing love. Hooks never defined love and has a very weak argument only supported by her opinion; she doesn’t even speak of her own experience of how she was disciplined. Kids Health says you have to be patient with kids under the age of ten. The parent has to explain to the child what they have done and why it is wrong before the punishment.
Some parents ignore to teach their children when they were young. It cause many children don’t care their behavior and they will get the wrong worldview. I like this book because that is a good advice for children and parents, it can help parents teach their children keep a good behavior when they were young. How to listening to the other people, that is a serious problem for children, especially for parents. Now, more and more children don’t like to listen to the other people.
Outside of the realm of government if we look at our society today many of our moral have changed. This is evident in with the mass media. Parents have to be vigilant in the kinds of information their kids are receiving. Things that were frowned upon years ago are now re-staged as something good. I went to my daughter schools last week and was taken aback to see kids, as we would call it “making out”, in clear view of everyone to see.
