P4 - Demonstrate a method of searching either people, vehicles or premises for prohibited items as conducted by a security worker in the public services using an appropriate method. M3 - Explain the pre-planning, execution and outcomes of searching including any constraints that might apply. D2 - Evaluate the effectiveness of the search in maintaining security of people, premises and property in a specific public service. P4 evidence - assessment sheet and evidence checklist enclosed. When pre planning a search there are certain conditions of search required. The conditions of search are: * Written agreement with employees * Written agreement between customer and company * Union agreement * Obtain permission of person to be searched Search officers also have rights of work, they must remember at all times that they are not police officers. They have no special authority to work under and they must never, under any circumstances use force. When planning the search my search team took place in we took into account; * The vehicle * How we would stop the vehicle * Where we would stand the passengers and driver of the vehicle * Assigned roles to our team members * What to do if we did find any contraband * Who would search the vehicle and who would search the people When executing a search the 4 P's of searching must always be followed, the 4 P's are; * Asking for permission - everyone has the right not to consent to being searched and there is nothing a search officer can do about that except maybe if they have reason to believe a person is committing a crime or is dangerous. * Always being polite - every searcher should be polite to everyone especially the person they are searching. This is so that people feel at ease with them and in return are easier for the search officers to deal with and are more
