Dawn Chadwell March 23, 2015 English 102 Professor Scott Overseas Outsourcing The discussion regarding U.S companies outsourcing internationally to countries such as India, Pakistan, Philippines, China and dozens more is highly controversial. What a lot of people don’t know is that outsourcing is a much older practice. Merchant companies or large businesses can cut their material cost and employee labor considerably by outsourcing. This has made the big corporations close their factories in the U.S and move them overseas to undeveloped countries. The citizens of these countries will work for lower wages, in dangerous conditions and have fewer restrictions as far as labor rights. It sounds like a good idea. As I said before, the majority of the citizens have lost everything. Jobs, homes, insurance and self-esteem. The citizens are being looked at as lazy, welfare living adults that have to fight to survive. I am the mother of three children, two are adults. I worry everyday if they are struggling. My youngest is 11 years old and the way the world is today it scares me to even think how it will be when she gets out in the job market. I left a company after 15 years of employment because there was no way of advancing. Now I set at a computer all day trying to further my education. I work nights at a janitorial…show more content…
