Operation Iraq Freedom When they surrendered in the first Gulf War, Gulf War I, they agreed to allow inspections of WMD. They kicked the inspectors out and started shooting at our planes in the no-fly zone. More babies are aborted each and every day in the USA than the number of USA troops killed in Iraq since the beginning of the war. If people are worried about life, they should be working to stop abortion instead of the war. The average age of the soldier in Iraq is 30 years old so when you hear someone say to get our kids, boys, young men, out of Iraq, they don't understand what is happening over there. They are stuck thinking it is the same as the Vietnam War that had a draft. We didn't go into Iraq because of WMD. That was…show more content…
Saddam was so hated by his own people, when he was caught they executed him. The falling statue of Saddam Hussein in Baghdad is an evocative image. It signals that the U.S.-led military action against the Hussein regime has been a success. This signal of success is backed by tangible evidence of a successful military operation in more substantive terms. What it boils down to be that now, what's done is done and with that being said, we need to make the best of it. While it seems we are only able to accomplish small missions at a time, a victory is a victory, no matter the size and that is a good thing. And those of you that like to make the remarks it was for the oil, do you research and find out where most of the US get its oil, top contributors are Venezuela and Canada. The military has never used Iraq oil for its own uses while being in Iraq. Instead, while the government has paid ALOT of money for the oil, gas, etc, that is uses; it has provided Iraq with pipelines for distribution of its oil. The military has also helped fight the fires caused by insurgents who have set fire to the oil plants. The military has also helped rebuild places that were in need of it. Oil is one of Iraq's top money makers, if the US took the oil away from the people, then the US would be in debt EVEN further from having to provide money to Iraq.
