My mother is the most inspiring person in my life. The reason why I chose my mother is because she is really all I have. She is my motivation, she has always been there for me and helps me live through all my struggles even during the most difficult times in my life I knew I could turn to her. I grew up with a mother and a father, but my mother was the one who pushed me to my true potential and kept me focused on doing better in school. Overall, my mother has molded me into a better student and young man.
Making personal sacrifices for my children happen on a daily basis, but also remind me of the reason I became a parent in the first place. Keeping an open mind which has helped me to survive is important. To illustrate, times are different now opposed to when I was a child. I have to know where my children are coming from, so I can help them make hard decisions. In addition, I have had to organize my life around my children, so that I could always be there to help them with their homework, attend all of their extracurricular activities, or just have a willingness to listen.
She developed such a strong personality that she was able to climb the rungs of broadcasting very quickly, even though very few African American women up to that time had become a major factor in the media. The woman is great at building a harmonious and synergistic atmosphere. Oprah has a positive survivor attitude that has allowed her to build herself up from many of her traumatic experiences instead of letting them break herself down. Oprah Winfrey acknowledged her grandmother's influence, saying it was Hattie Mae who had encouraged her to speak in public and "gave me a positive sense of myself". Her goal in life is to live out the truest expression of herself as a human being.
She has already got her degree in the area that she loves. She works so hard that it’s so different in my eyes. She been the first of my family to actually move out of Calexico and pursue her dreams. It’s a true honor to be able to call her my sister when I know sometimes I don’t deserve that honor. I love her much and she will always be my mentor at
Week 5 Journal: Conflict Management Assessment After taking my conflict management assessment, I found out that I am able to handle conflict quite well and work very hard for a peaceful and mutual outcome for both parties. I am actually quite surprised at this because when I was younger I knew I had an attitude problem and did not know how to handle conflict. Growing up I always dealt with my conflict physically or almost always wanted to get even with the other person. After finding out my ability to handle conflict is greater than I perceived I felt great. Conflict was one of the hardest things for me to maintain as a pre-teen, but at this age I feel like I’ve grown tremendously.
In life many people teach to follow the heart and keep reaching for a big dream, and sometimes many people say if the dream is not scary, it is not big enough. Chanel turned a reality, into a dream, and eventually it turned into a system, a way of life. The impact of the Chanel empire has left one of the largest, single most recognizable impressions from the beginning of its time, to this day. Being influential and empowering takes time and some sort of an effort, for Chanel, it simply took all she knew and a heart to keep pushing with what little she had (Bio.). Growing up in an orphanage, Coco Chanel did the best that she could to make the most out of it.
It is essential for a nurse to be open, strong, determined, thoughtful and caring. These qualities would reflect on the nurse and would make caring for the patient easier. When I first gained my dream of being a nurse I was in the fifth grade. I would always hear older people say that nurses and doctors make the most money, and I always wanted to be wealthy and successful so I decided this is what I would do. I believe that I belong to this field because ever since I was a child I always wanted to make a positive influence in other’s lives.
First Year in College It was not difficult at all when I was faced with the decision of choosing my career path. It has always been my plan to graduate high school, and attend college to become a doctor. I am a kind hearted person that has always had a passion of voluntarily helping others out as best I could, whenever I notice someone is in need of help. However, at the time I was not aware of the effort and responsibility it would take to actually become successful at my goal of becoming a nurse until I had to learn self discipline the hard way. I was overly excited and nervous at the same time, preparing for my first year of college.
Writing a mission statement was one of the best things I’ve done for myself in awhile. I plan to use that everyday in my future and i believe it can guide me to live my life for me, not anyone else. I think habit 2 will better me both in my school and personal life because it taught me how to separate every aspect in my life and set time for each thing I’m juggling. It also was an eye opener when we did the baby steps for this habit because it make me write down my crossroads I was currently facing and forced me to take a deeper insight to them and I figured some things out that I was struggling with. Next year, I will become a sophomore student and my dream is a pharmacist.
My sixth grade year was amazing. I got the most amazing teachers. My teachers were Mrs. Mabe and Mrs. Davis. They always helped me when I didn't understand but even when they tried to help me and I didnt get it they gave me a lot of examples and made me do them myself. They never let us fail.
