Even with a brief nursing career, most nurses will agree that nursing has been and will remain one of the most satisfying careers; “…as long as there are people that have the desire to change the world, one relationship at a time”. (Pellico, 2006, p.33) Many people enter nursing for personal reasons, such as having to learn how to take care of a loved one with a new diagnosis or having family in the nursing field. This paper will also show growth in the baccalaureate nursing program from the original philosophy paper. Philosophy of Nursing This paper will discuss and show how the four nursing meta-paradigm concepts of person, nursing, health, and environment are used in developing a personal philosophy of nursing. Person includes the recipient of care such as patients, their families, and communities as a whole.

My knowledge and experiences that I have gained from various sociology, health, and cultural courses will greatly benefit me in the nursing field and in taking the greatest care for my patients. I truly believe that I will be someone who they can count on to focus on what is best for them and make the best decisions to improve their well-being. When you are a nurse you need to see the whole patient, not just their physical health. Whether it is to ease their pain, lessen their fear, comfort their sadness, support their wishes, or to simply be next to them to place a smile on their face, I will give them nothing but my best to contribute to their needs in those

I need this education so I can be the best nurse I can be. I want to be a pediatric nurse because I love working with children, along with helping people and pediatric care is a great combination of both. I know in this career, I won’t dread going to work every day and that be the life I live. Right now, I am an accountant assistant as my part time job. This being, I realized I wouldn’t enjoy a job where I’m behind a desk every day, along with doing the same things over and over again.
For the past several years I have known almost every detail of what I plan to do after high school. I have always been extremely passionate with helping those in need, and caring for other people. This, and the fact that my mother is a registered nurse, has led me to believe that pursuing a medical degree is what I am meant to do with my life. I have always loved school and always wanted to be important to those around me, and I feel as though being someone who cares whole-heartedly for those who are sick and ill, is a perfect way to express my passion for helping those in need. I came to the conclusion of joining the medical field several years ago after my first serious injury.
I wanted to make my parents proud because of what I was doing. I want to be able to provide for my kids in ways my parents couldn’t always afford too and that’s when I started looking into it more thoroughly. I ended up coming into realization that being a Medical Assistant was also something that started to interest me. I love helping people and meeting new people as well. I work in a place where I see new faces every day, it’s always nice to interact with them and learn a little bit about them in just a matter of a few seconds.
I want to succeed in becoming a registered nurse, because this has been a life long dream. I want to be able to encourage someone else that it is never to late to pursue their dreams. Another reason for me to become an RN is to hopefully one day be able to medically assist in saving someone's life, administer first aid, or to just help someone feel better. Also, for financial stability and it will be rewarding to be able to say, “ I did it”.Another goal to success for me is raise my children to be Pyles 2 confident, healthy, happy and
Nursing is a profession I have always had a keen interest in. The role of a nurse is extremely challenging and diverse which I strive on. It is a very rewarding job and I believe I have the transferable skills needed to be successful. Such as showing empathy, a willingness to learn, fantastic interpersonal skills, a good listener and most importantly determination to succeed and the desire to meet and exceed patients needs. I have a genuine interest in this field as when I was growing up I looked after my Nan who was heavily disabled.
