Brine is actually a word used for salt water. In this experiment, you will investigate how salt concentration affects the number of shrimp eggs that hatch and survive. Your results will allow you to determine the salt concentration which allows the most shrimp eggs to hatch. Start this experiment by writing a procedure that you can follow to do the experiment and obtain valid conclusions. How would you design your experiment to determine the best conditions for brine shrimp eggs to hatch and survive?
They teach the local students about the environmental concerns linked to the marine ecosystem. Field work is common for this job. The study of saltwater organisms and their relationships to their environment is also a job a marine biologist will be doing. Subject areas are almost limitless. They also study the population fluctuation in different fish.
The mid-intertidal zone includes mussels and rockweed. And finally the upper intertidal zone includes dog whelk, barnacles, limpets, snails, and blue-green bacteria and algae. In the smooth texture of the sandy beach, there are also a variety of types of organisms, just not a large as a range as the rocky coast. It is said that if you are sitting on a beach where the waves make contact and you quickly dig into the sand there is a possibility that you will catch a beach hopper. Some call this animal by it’s textbook name, the mole crab.
The Hermaphrodite is in picture B where the tail is open and almost wispy. It was extremely difficult to pick the worms up with the tools that we had in the first lab. It seemed to just poke into the jelly-like
My independent variable is the green crab, which I added to the tide pool off the Washington State coast. My dependent variable was the coral weed because it is affected by the green crab. I started my experiment at 0 crabs/sq. ft. I replicated this step 5 times (resetting the simulation between each replication) and measured the population of the green grab and the coral weed at the end of each repetition.

Ponce De Leon continued down the coast of Florida until he arrived at an island that had lots of turtles. He named the island Dry Tortugas because there was no fresh water on the island, and Tortugas means turtle in Spanish. Continuing up the west coast of Florida, Ponce De Leon entered the Charlotte Harbor area. As he and his men explored inland for wood and fresh water, they saw the Calusa tribal village at Mound Key. They discovered that the Calusa were an unfriendly
A research scientist comes back from a study of a group of islands in the South Pacific. He indicates to you that his data show that in some cases, smaller islands have larger numbers of lizard species on them than larger islands. He suggests these data indicate that we should reexamine the whole theory of Island Biogeography. What additional information would you like to have about the islands he studied? Here are some of the questions that could be asked: How far are the islands from the mainland?
We used the stopwatch to find the time taken from one end to the other end. The last equipment we used for this investigation was the measuring tape, to find 10 metres of a distance in the beach. Two people from our team were holding the edges of the measuring tape; one person was holding the stopwatch, one person was holding the bottle (ready to release the bottle into the sea) and the last person was holding the compass to find which direction the fetch is coming
It was my first time so I was nervous. I didn’t think you would find much in the river cause it a river. Usually you see people on TV scuba diving in an ocean, like on the beaches in Hawaii or anywhere in general. The instructor who was showing us how to scuba told us, since thousands of people from all over come to the river a lot of valuable items are dropped by tubers every day. We put our scuba gear on, and begin the hunt to the river’s floor, to pick up left behind treasures.
