Students need to be focused, and this focus drives them to succeed. Many students, due to different circumstances, lose their focus. This can always be disastrous for their well-being as well as their future. An on-site daycare at colleges will also reduce the number of students missing class or absenteeism. Class attendance facilitates learning in a variety of ways.
Many argue that the funding of sports teams in educational institutions should be cut. Some parents, educators and students believe that these expenses are too costly and distracting from the fundamental core subjects, such as English, math, history and science. This one-sided perspective actually sidetracks these advocates from the fact that school sports teams benefit students in numerous aspects. The funding placed into sports teams in educational institutions influence students by teaching teamwork, reducing the chances of obesity, and enhancing academic behavior. Being on a sports team teaches teamwork.
Unit 028 Develop Positive Relationships with Children, Young People and Others Involved in their Care Outcome 1 Be able to develop positive relationships with children and young people A/C 1- Explain why positive relationships with children and young people are important and how these are built and maintained. Positive relationships with children and young people are essential in any childcare setting. A positive relationship with a child means that they will feel welcome and a part of the environment and therefore they will settle and be content. A child will always play and learn better when they are comfortable in their surroundings. If you have a positive relationship with a child it becomes easier to communicate with them and understand their wants and needs.
This can cause feelings of jealousy as they fight for the attention of their parents. It may even make the child have bad behaviour as they feel it is the only way for their parents to notice them. The child may also feel pushed out as other family members who are visiting focus all their attention on to the new baby too. 3) Moving home/school – Changing schools and homes can affect children and young people in different ways. Children who are outgoing and have confidence will find the transition easier as they may make friends and settle in at a faster pace.
Firstly, the physical development would be that they would start doing physical education, ''play time'' and possibly walking to and from school, which would give them a boost in physical development, this is where the individual will start exercising and it is good that they get into enjoying physical activity at a young age, otherwise they may grow up to be lazy, which could increase the risk of them becoming overweight in the future. This may also contribute to a child's self esteem as it is where they begin to learn how confident they are with being around other people and how much attention they like to have on them. Secondly, this is where intellectual and social development would begin as the individual would need to remember which classes they are meant to be at, to remember a teacher’s name and begin to make new friends/ socialize. This where the individual will learn if they are shy or confident, they may be too afraid to talk in class as they are shy, therefore not make any friends or they may develop to be an outgoing person who always has something to say and makes loads of friends. The individual could join clubs at school, this will give them a better
Engagement in a full range of activities is part and parcel of a healthy basic lifestyle, which individuals with learning disabilities are entitled to. The purpose and outcomes of these activities will vary on the individuals’ abilities. Being involved in learning or development activities is fun and absorbing for individuals. It suggests it helps individuals to have positive experiences and develop important characteristics and abilities.
The dramatic increase in the percentage of overweight children in the past 20 years combined with finding that children tend to become less physically active as they grow older has led researchers to wonder what factors may be influencing physical activity (or lack thereof) among youth today. In a qualitative study of adolescent male’s perceptions of perceived barriers to physical activity both internal and external barriers were identified. Internal barriers included low perceived physical competence and lack of confidence; higher value placed on academics and preference for technology related activities such as television, computer use, and video games. External barriers that adolescents cited included the influence of peers and family; safety concerns; lack of time due to schoolwork and after-school jobs; and lack of accessible, affordable indoor facilities. These factors emphasize on the fact on the environment, people, and influences children have at such an early age that develops habits for these children for the rest of their life.
Because they are more interested into the newest type of technology. If children big in size and they get bullied for it, they are going to feel very self-conscious. If children join in on fitness they are going to be healthier and are going to feel better about their selves. The sport expenses are very high these days and make it hard for parents to put the children in a sport as there are no cheap sports and/or activities. Due to the expenses of food and school it is difficult for parents to pay for sports.
The adult supports children’s psychological and physical well-being by helping them to make healthy choices about nutrition, hygiene and exercise. Ensure that we plan and provide opportunities for children to express themselves, to encourage them to play and work with others and to deal with challenges. As adults we need to help children towards independence by providing them with choice in their activities and by providing opportunities for them to make decisions and to
Playing college athletics also means that the person involved will most likely be in better shape and more physically active while in school due to the regiment their coach puts them through. Staying physically fit in school can help prevent that student from becoming ill and miss class time. Lastly, most college coaches have the ability to monitor how their student athletes are doing academically and can pull their athletes asides to talk about grades and possibly assign them a tutor if
