Your response to each question should be between 75 to 100 words in length. 1. How does a healthy lifestyle affect self-image and self-esteem? By leading a healthy lifestyle, a person will look healthier and feel healthier due to the lack of lower body fat. This causes them to feel good due to other people’s perspective on them. Society’s perception of attractiveness is aligned with how healthy one looks. By having people drawn to them, their self-esteem is boosted. Self-image is also increased because of the additional activities one might be able to partake in. Being healthy and active opens doors to many different things in life. 2. How do you define good nutrition? Good nutrition is defined by a proper intake of nutrients and fuel for the body. The body requires fuel and energy to properly function. In order to operate at maximum potential, the body should only be allowed to consume what it needs, not what it wants. Improper dieting would consist on excess consumption of a particular type of nutrition or consumption of something that provides zero benefits to the body’s machinations. 3. What does it mean to eat a balanced diet? A balanced diet is defined by a proper and monitored intake of food to provide energy for the body. The old adage that “too much of a good thing is bad” sums it up quite accurately. A balanced intake would mean to only consume enough carbohydrates, a particular mineral or vitamin for the body to properly function. Having too much of it would lead to the diet being unbalanced and potentially hinder a body’s ability to perform. 4. What are three of the main dangers associated with dieting?
