The drug addicts lose all respect for themselves and these addictions end up taking over their lives. Maybe the addicts are right when they say the addictions are their own fault and aren’t a reflection towards their troubled childhood. Addicts may just get caught up in the wrong situation at the wrong time and end up getting addicted to a drug just to fit in with peers. Drug addictions will create emotional distress no matter whose fault it
People also tell me that I have a mental problem and that could be one of the reason I can’t get a job. I have mix emotions I can get real mad and stressed out that I will think of bad things to do to myself just to release the stress. I know it’s not good but anger problems runs in my family but I try to control it sometimes it work and other times it don’t. I am drug free I don’t even be around it any more. I am struggling trying to take care of my family without losing my family.
By stating this he is suggesting that in this country it is not about what you know but who you know. Sadly meaning a mediocre education has the same amount of significance as a spectacular education. This strategy can bring the audience closer to his side because he is proving the fact that our nation is in fact ran by idiots. Another rhetorical strategy Moore proposes is the use of a sarcastic tone throughout his excerpt. “Chances are, the genius representing you in the legislature won’t score 50 percent on the above test” (Moore 132).
Teaching them the basics of being a man while at the same time teaching them the importance of team work and perseverance through whatever life throws at you. These life lessons usually take most a long time to learn. Football isn’t everything, and there is more to life, but football does help to create a man that can contribute something more to society than just being a football player. Football helped to turn these boys into men, by putting them into situations that most, if not properly prepared would just crumble and fail. Yet football taught them how to pull through and prevail over the situation at
With each failure he would pick himself back up and work even harder. During his last attempt to enter the school he was feeling extremely discouraged, his entire self-worth was based on getting into Notre Dame and proving everyone wrong. Rudy said to Father Cavanaugh, “I don’t care what kind of job I did, if it doesn’t produce results then it doesn’t mean anything.” The Father says to Rudy “I think it will.” This little statement s helps give Rudy the positive reinforcement he needs to remind him that the external reward is secondary to the internal reward of self-confidence and self-worth. On Rudy’s last and final attempt he was accepted to the University of Notre
When Troy hesitates to allow the football recruiter to come by, Rose declares that Cory is able to make something out of himself because “times have changed from when you was young, Troy. People change. The world’s changing around you and you can’t even see it” (40). Troy believes that his son won’t make it in football because he unconsciously reminds himself of the injustices of the world he grew up in. Troy’s inability to accept change and even his inability to see the change the world is undergoing directly hurts his relationship with not only Cory, but also indirectly impairs his ability to understand his own wife.
The Loss of loved ones; loss of important family members and loss of friends resulting from irresponsible drunk drivers on the road are tragic and permanent. Drunk driving is like playing with fire because most of the time, the drunk drivers think they are suitable for driving. Unfortunately, the liquor already affects their minds, they do not care about themselves and other people’s lives, and that is not only selfish but a deadly combination. You have no right to let anyone else suffer from the consequence of your action especially innocent bystanders and their loved ones. One of the biggest causes of drunk driving is the person who hasn’t adequately prepared for the situation.
Before my husband die, he got cleaned but it was to late for him. The behavior and mentality of drug addicts and alcoholics is wholly irrational until individual understand that they are completely powerless over their addiction and unless they have structure help, they have no hope. Matt and my husband , I think try very hard to stop their addiction. At times, teens may be rejected and in order to feel accepted, they make bad decisions such as using drugs, drinking alcohol, cheating, and bullying. Trying so hard to fit in can lead someone to lower their self – esteem and feel like they’re being judged. The stress and difficulty of fitting in can cause them to hurt themselves to make the pain stop and can lead to cases of teen suicide. Teenagers such as those trying hard to fit in and who’s self – esteem are lowered need a place in Hawaii where they can be themselves and no one can judge them for who they
Being knocked down a peg in society brings us back to wishing we could just accept or afford the little house with the picket fence. As soon as we are able to fulfill that dream again, if ever, we become greedy again. People crave for more and I believe it is only human to feel this way; this helps us to fit into society and feel as though we are living the American dream. For some people they struggle to live the American dream and tend look to the government for help. Feeling helpless due to the economy they become addicted to claiming help from other sources other than themselves because it just seems easier.
