After six years as anchor, O'Reilly left Inside Edition to earn his master's degree in public policy at Harvard University. Upon leaving Harvard, the startup Fox News Channel hired O'Reilly to do The O'Reilly Factor. In 2001, The Factor became the country's most watched cable news program. He has expanded his media presence to include a national radio show called The Radio Factor and a weekly syndicated newspaper column. O’Reilly is the author of ten books, which vary from nonfiction to historical fiction to thrillers, and include Killing Kennedy, Lincoln’s Last Days, Those Who Trespass, Pinheads and Patriots, and Culture Warrior.
This is showing that he knows about his privileges and knows when to use them to try and get him and his family to get him out of trouble with the inspector. Mr Birling is a character that likes the sound of his own voice. He says many things that the audience doesn’t want to hear, such as when he starts telling them about the war and the ‘unsinkable’ Titanic. “I say, there isn’t a chance of war the worlds developing fast…The Titanic-she sails next week-New York in 5 days-Every luxury-and unsinkable”. This shows dramatic irony because we actually know that the Titanic did sink.

I will be critiquing Jimmy’s courageous speech in the following paragraphs. At the beginning of Valvano’s speech as all eyes were on him, recalling the Tupac Shakur album all eyes on me, everyone watched as if the words were coming directly from the mouth of God. Jim opens his speech with a joke saying “That’s the lowest I’ve ever seen Dick Vitale since the owner of the Detroit Pistons called him in and told him he should go into broadcasting” Somewhat lightening up the tense atmosphere of his cancer diagnosis, gaining the audience’s attention, and creating continuity with them as well. Shortly thereafter Valvano humbles himself by
Soon after he died at the age of eighty-three leaving children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and they have all heard and remember his midnight ride. He did not leave any wives because they both had died years ago which made all depressed in his olden days. Also he had eight with one and eight with the other but with the first one only 5 survived and the second only six survived. Even though many that fought are not alive now, their memories still live on. The colonies soon became America and what it is today because of all the historical events in the past due to Paul Revere and many others and all the wars and battles we won throughout the years, good thing we got rid of those British

After reading The Killer Angels I am now more open to history as a subject and the literature that comes along with it. To read about how unexpected the battle actually was and how all of the commanding officers acted and felt amazed me. Michael Shaara put together the facts in such a way that made the novel not only readable but captivating to the reader, making me not want to put the book down. There were many mistakes on the confederate side which is what, I believe cause the union victory but, many men fought and died for what they believed in and that courage make them all victors in their own way. Although the civil war was not won that day, it was one of the deciding factors that eventually lead to the union victory and the freeing of the slaves, which would have most likely not have been accomplished if not for the men on that battlefield.
His courage on the battlefield and in political office will forever stand the test of time. He believed in his country, and that everyone deserved to be free inside of it. Noted as being extremely convincing, Hamilton convinced congress to vote for Thomas Jefferson in the extremely controversial presidential election of 1800. This convincing nature would prove to be his downfall however, as the loser of the election; Aaron Burr killed Hamilton in a duel on July 12th1804, after years of being bitter enemies. Alexander Hamilton is an American writer that my classmates and others would be interested in learning
“When a man contributes something of vast importance to a nation, he is set above others and revered” (Schwartz 29), one great man and President who defines that phrase is President Abraham Lincoln, who was taken from the nation way too soon and is the President I most admire and that is admired and modeled by many politicians and citizens of this glorious nation. President Lincoln not only helped assess the diversity of this nation but after a much heated war his tragedy brought the nation together which has not divided since the late 1860s it takes a true “American hero” like “Honest Abe” to establish such
A wise man once said, “Let us never negotiate out of fear. But let us never fear to negotiate” (Meyersohn 102). This was said by one of our nation’s most well-known leaders. Although he is most famous for his assassination, he was one of our greatest presidents. He had a lot of courage and did many things to better our country.
