1. What are the responsibilities of companies in this or similar situations? I feel that companies in similar situations as Nestle should find a way to become more involved by sending donations and doing what they can to help different hospitals and charitable organizations that could greatly benefit from their help. I think that Nestle should remain a member of the Infant Food Manufacture because it is a great area and they have the potential to produce a lot of good healthy well produced goods in that area. Nestle should continue their efforts on social responsibility by sponsoring events at international medical and nutrition conferences, and events like celebrating the Canadian Year of the Family, and funding research on infant feeding…show more content…
Assume you are the one who had to make the final decision on whether or not to promote and market Nestlé’s baby formula in Third World countries. Read the section titled “Ethical and Socially Responsible Decisions” in Chapter 5 as a guide to examine the social responsibility and ethical issues regarding the marketing approach and the promotion used. Were the decisions socially responsible? Were they ethical? If I had the opportunity to make the decisions I don’t think I would market Nestlé’s formula in my opinion. I would be very skeptical, and I would be more focused on the welfare of children. I know formal has the potential to be the 1bedst solution in some cases as far as being an alternative for a mother’s milk. Especially when the mother or baby is sick. I think that Nestle needs to make sure they market better and make sure they have all the precautions that are needed to keep everything healthy for the baby. Yom must know how to successful market your product when moving it into a different country. Have different customs and traditions and don’t believe in certain things. One country may believe in only a traditional means of caring for their children and this could include breastfeeding. I know formula is a great asset to the world but I don’t think Nestle handled the situation in a positive manner. If there is a problem with a product I believe you need to handle it up front and don’t run and hide from a problem you must confront it. I know that Nestle made one mistake and they learned from it in the future but it is hard to make a mistake when it comes to
