Lindsay Nixon Descriptive Essay "Beach" M. Brumley 1/23/14 There are many places to vacation during summer. However, the most popular place is the beach. The beach is beautiful, relaxing, and just all around exciting place to be during the summer time. When you hear the word "beach", what comes to mind? For me, it's the beautiful, clear blue skies.
Miami Beach had plenty to offer, for me and my friends. Miami Beach is a city on the coast of Florida. The drive takes approximately nine hours from Perry, Georgia. It was a long drive, but my friends and I made it very interesting. When we got into Miami, it did not look anything like I thought it would.
The foamy white waves were overwhelming and fascinating. I felt so proud when I finally conquered the skill of standing up on the surfing board. The smell of the sea and the sight of the crystal blue waters were just surreal. The atmosphere and scenery in Hawaii was defiantly once of the most memorable aspects of my visit. The bright green palm trees were everywhere, making my trip feel so real although I felt like I was in a dream my whole experience was so amazing.
Over the summer, I got the chance to go to Cedar Point twice. Once with my dad, step-mom, and step-sister's. The second time was with my oldest sister Jessica, brother-in-law Codi, and my bestest friend ever Morgan. Each time I went I had and experience of a lifetime. When I went with my dad, we stayed in a beautiful hotel on the beach.
The first group played trombones, and the second and third groups both played tubas. This concert was one of my favorites this year. The first piece played by the ULM Trombone Ensemble was “Achieved Is The Glorious Work”. It was very celebratory, and it reminded me of a wedding of a royal couple. The second piece played was “Summertime”, and it was jazzy with a very smooth sound.
After 1.5 hrs. Of sleep, I awoke at 5 am only to realize that nobody else was awake except for me. So then I went down stairs and watch my favorite show, “The Fresh Prince of Bel air” for about 45 minutes until everybody woke up. When everybody got up, we rushed around to get out the door by a certain time. Then all 7 of us piled in an Expedition that only holds 8 with all of our blankets and such and then we headed off down the road to Myrtle Beach S.C.
During the trip, in one of the Sao Paulo malls, the modeling scouts liked me and invited me to come to their model agency. I had lived my whole life and I had never thought of becoming a model. I loved to play volleyball and believe that this could be my future; I was very tall and skinny. The rest of the class went to the amusement park while I, after being promised to go there on some other occasion, went with my Mom, who accompanied us on our trip, to the model agency. After the visit, caving in to the insistence of the agency’s staff who said that I had a profile for the modeling business, I had a book of my pictures made and came back home waiting to see what would happen.
Beach: The waves roared far out to sea on the tranquil beach. The sun’s rays bouncing on the water’s horizon, as the sun began to set. It hadn’t been like this earlier. The beach had been bustling with people from all cultures. Families arrived by car, struggled to carry towels, wind breaks, and picnics through the bushes to the beach.

My family and I had come by the new house one last time before we moved were in. My first memory of Becky was that summer evening I was sitting in the back of the truck, and I noticed a couple of girls walking at the top of the block, and walking my way. As they approached I noticed they were around my age, so I said ”Hi.” Becky introduced herself and Carla, and Becky and I were to go on to become best friend until we lost track of each other in out late teens. I was 15 years old.
Those stores are the coolest stores I’ve been to. In Cocoa Beach Surf Company there’s a big fish tank with sharks and eels. And since Ron Jon never closes, I like to go there in the middle of the night sometimes when I feel restless. Last year, I went there with some friends at midnight on New Years just because we could. When I’m not shopping or skating, I’m at the beach.
